The discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly. - Proverbs 15:14 (NIV)
Greg the Lunatic Locke took some time off from consigning Democratic voters to hell while burning books in his backyard to regale Facebook with a story that makes the sneaky squid spirit blush. Our key verse today is from Proverbs and reminds us that a discerning heart seeks knowledge, which is found in the word of God but fools feed on foolishness. They feed on it beloved. It is what sustains them. It is what they savor. Why? Because it specifically is NOT from God and they hate God in their hearts, even though they may they pay lip service to Him. A key facet of NAR teaching that often goes unaddressed is false signs and lying wonders. It is the oohs and ahhs that people seek instead of the word of God. We see it when bogus churches like Bethel speak about glory clouds, gold dust, gem stones, and angel feathers. They stupidly refer to these as "signs that make you wonder." Yep. It makes me wonder how bad that acid was that you dropped. Speaking of bad acid, our example tonight is Locke. So let us reason through a recent post he made on Facebook that would be amusing except it already has over a thousand comments and shares with five thousand likes. Things like this stupidity has real world and eternal consequences as it leads people away from Christ and His gospel. You better sit down for this one.
"What I'm about to share is absolutely true and totally supernatural. If you still argue about deliverance, demons and witchcraft, just move along. I won't waste time arguing with foolish people. But for those that are actually paying attention and understand the Biblical mandate of spiritual warfare, keep reading." - Greg Locke
If you feel the need to swear up front that your story is true, chances are you know it is absurd and are lying. It is the last bastion of foolish false teachers to dismiss people who biblically point out their heresy by pretending those people are really the fools, right. Freud's term for that was projection. As we will see, what Greg Locke is about to share has absolutely nothing to do with spiritual warfare. It has to do with one of three things. Either he took some really bad acid, he cannot realize that he is being used demonically, or he is lying to give himself the air of being super-spiritual. Given the history of the wannabe apostle, I am leaning towards the latter.
"Late Thursday night I was sleeping on the bus while headed home from preaching in Missouri. I had the most unusual dream. It was one of those dreams that grips you and you can't shake it throughout the day. My wife was being chased by large mermaids in a dirty river. I was chasing them to protect her. Suddenly there was a group of miniature mermaids, maybe 2 feet in length. As one tried to bite me, I snatched it out of the water. She had dark eyes, long blond hair and her facial features were very detailed. The moment I grabbed her to stop her, she turned into a ferocious demonic being resembling a vampire. I threw her on the shore and got to my wife. It was quick. It was weird. It was bothersome." - Greg Locke
Uh-huh. Perhaps he ate some really bad pizza before falling asleep? By the way, which wife? Because according to the bible, Greg Locke is still married to the women he gave vows to before God. Well, that was before he slept with his secretary and then divorced his wife to marry the secretary. Perhaps the correct interpretation is that God is trying to warn you. Your wife running for her life in a dirty river indicates that you realize you have made her an adulteress. The little mermaids might be indicative of the other women you may be leering at, since we know that the best indicator of future behavior is past behavior, especially if never repented of. It is interesting that this mini-mermaid turned into a vampire, you know, that sucks the life out of you? Just spit-balling here Greg, I mean apostle Greg. I will give him credit for one thing however. If I had a dream with big mermaids, little mermaids and vampires, I would say that would be weird and bothersome. What I would not do however, is try to spiritualize it. While it is true that God can speak through dreams, more often than not - dreams are just dreams. Fragments of things that we have been thinking about or that has happened in our lives. Maybe Greg recently watched the Little Mermaid with his kids. Maybe he has a secret fetish for marine creatures. Who knows.
"BEFORE I CONTINUE"Let me state emphatically that there is without a doubt a "mermaid spirit" that torments, deceives and seduces people. It's a massive known and practiced fact in the world of witchcraft. It's also why I have NOTHING to do with Starbucks but that's another post for another time. The dream bothered me all day. I remembered a few months ago a preacher friend of mine talking about a mermaid spirit trying to destroy him and his marriage. I asked the Lord to help me understand what was coming against me." - Greg Locke
