The Charismatic Leadership Machine Starts the Smear of Robert Morris' Victim

We knew it was only a matter of time before the leadership in the apostate church tried to shift the narrative surrounding the revelations that mega-church darling Robert Morris sexually abused a 12-year-old for four years in the 1980s, when he was a married 20-something pastor. I just did not expect it to be this soon. The blame the victim tactic is designed to smear Cindy Clemishire and by default take some pressure off the mounting criticism and scrutiny for Morris. Make no mistake about it beloved, what we are seeing reported today is purposeful and nasty and should be beneath the dignity of a church that claims to worship Jesus Christ.

So, what is the reporting today? According to a leaked transcript of a 2005 phone call, Clemishire reportedly asked for two million dollars to keep silent. This runs contrary to her claims that she asked for 50K and was asked to accept 25K if she was willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Websites supporting Morris and Charismania seemed giddy to report this today but the accompanying response was sorely lacking. What should be the response? So what! First of all, this is a leaked transcript from a former Gateway Church IT person who apparently claims to have found it on an old Morris laptop, ten years ago and only disclosed this if he was not identified. So, a man who worked for Gateway, was transferring files for Morris ten years ago and finds a transcript revealing that Morris was trying to buy off his victim of child sexual molestation and he did nothing? Oh, except save the file? Who does that? If he was so righteous here, why not admit who you are?

The second problem with the reaction is that the transcript reveals definitively that Morris was trying to actively buy off his victim, when he was a very successful pastor in 2005. The exact phrase Morris said, according to the transcript is, "put a price on it." When she responded that it would not be a small number, Morris again asked her to name her price. That is when she allegedly said two million dollars. Reportedly, Morris quickly ended the conversation. So, he was asking to buy her silence and simply did not like the amount she gave him, even though he was a multi-millionaire at that time. This should be the takeaway. Not that a victim of child assault was trying to get two million dollars from a million-dollar mega church pastor but rather that this alleged man of God was trying to buy her complicity to never bring the story to light.

The third problem is that this fundamentally does not change what happened for four years, when Morris was a married pastor. It does not change what he did to Cindy Clemishire. It does not change that he lied about it to build his heretical empire. It does not change that he lied to his elders. It does not change that he lied in his book about this time in his life. It does not change that he tried to get his victim to sign a non-disclosure agreement and now potentially tried point blank to buy her silence. This smear job changed absolutely nothing about the underlying facts in this case. Robert Morris is now exposed as being a child predator who tried to cover up his abuse. This revelation today, if even true, changes nothing. Beware when the Charismatic machine wants to show you some new clandestine shiny object. It is only meant to distract, and in this case, smear the victim.
