"Step two starts by leading them through prayers of renouncing, dealing with unforgiveness, and then verbally telling the demons to leave. So they need to say, I renounce witchcraft, I renounce lust, you're just renouncing whatever it is the demon came in through. You're breaking their legal right. Then unforgiveness is a thing demons hang onto so having the person verbally say they forgive whoever it was that hurt them is a great way to see that breakthrough. Then I lead them through a prayer that says I don't want the demons, they have no authority. You have no legal right over me." - Isaiah Saldivar
Here is the sell. The demon slayers create this extra-biblical fantasy world where every day common sins or problems, are actually demons that must be cast out. So, if you are having an affair, you are battling a demon of lust. If you like to beat your wife, well that is a demon of anger or rage. Most of the time, sin is sin. They are choices we make. Eve was not possessed when she ate the fruit. David was not possessed when he committed adultery. This false paradigm has two awful consequences. First of all, it cheapens when there might really be demonic activity and draws people away from true demonic activity, with the unsaved. Secondly, it provides and excuse and creates a victim mentality. Suddenly, instead of being an adulterer, you were just battling a demon. If you find yourself morbidly obese, instead of realizing that maybe you are eating too much, it is just a demon of gluttony you need to be delivered from. Unforgiveness is very debilitating, primarily for believers because we have been forgiven so much. For unbelievers it is like a cancer inside of us, eating away at any joy until we resolve it but those are also decisions we make. Maybe it is because of pain and hurt, but they are decisions, nonetheless. It is not some imp sitting on our shoulder, whispering in our ear. Demons do not have "legal right." There are no examples of Jesus not casting out demons because they had some kind of contract. How inane.
"That leads to number three. Next, you are going to confront the demon. Call the demon out. I simply say I bind the spirit of lust. I bind the spirit of anger. Whatever the spirit is. I am literally talking to the demon. You need to put pressure on the demon and then ask the person do you feel anything. Do you sense anything. Is there anything weird going on in your body. Are you getting any weird anxiety. Heart racing, do you hear any voices." - Isaiah Saldivar
Well, when you are making all of this up, why not add a little more false theology. You need to put pressure on the demon? What the heck does that even mean? So, imagine this scene. You are being told that the reason why you keep sleeping with your secretary is that there is a lust demon inside of you. This lunatic is standing over you commanding this imaginary demon to be bound. He is literally talking to a demon allegedly inside of you somewhere, I assume your pants. Then he is asking if you feel something? Are you serious? A sense of weird anxiety and heart racing? Of course, impressionable people convinced that a demonic force is camped out inside of them are going to think they feel something! What nonsense.
"Step four, you are going to bind the demons in Jesus name. There is no power in my name. The bible says what you bind on earth will be bound in the heavenlies and what you loose So you want to make sure you are binding the demon and commanding them to go into the abyss. There is one place in scripture where demons say they do not want to go and that is into the abyss. Demons often times leave through the mouth, they are very legalistic so it is best to command them specifically where you want them to go. If they're feeling stuck in the person's chest, you got to keep putting pressure. This could take hours. These people have spent years like this so we cannot just think they're going to leave instantly." - Isaiah Saldivar
Wait a second, didn't we just bind them in step three? Was that just the preliminary binding? Demons sometimes leave through the mouth? What are you talking about? Where do they leave other times? The nose? They can get stuck in the chest? It seems Isaiah has seen the movie "Aliens" one too many times. Where in the bible does it say demons are legalistic, so it is best to tell them where to go? Come out of that person now and go to Tuscaloosa! This is so beyond silly. Although, who hasn't cast out an imaginary demon but forgotten to tell them where to go only to find them later hiding in a closet? I also love the notion that we can declare in Jesus' name for a demon to leave and we should not expect that to work. Was there any biblical example where demons just said no when Jesus commanded them to come out? Please.
"Step five - If the demon does not leave, find out why. This is the point that I would ask the demon what is their name and they will often speak out of the person. I will ask them why they won't leave. It could be a legal consent, it could be their holding on to something, it could be a demonic item they're attached to, it could be unforgiveness, it could be unconfessed sin or open doors. There is a reason why they are not leaving. So, this is the point I would say why are you not leaving, why are you still there. Jesus asked their name in the bible so it is ok for us to engage and ask them their name. This is confrontation, interrogation and not conversation." - Isaiah Saldivar
Find out why? So, if the demon refuses to come out, have a chat? Maybe a cup of coffee? Hey what's your name, do you possess here often? Oh, but it is spiritual tough guy time, so just interrogate them! You know, like the seven sons of Sceva tried to do! Notice again all of the "reasons" are blamed on the victim. Oh, it must be unconfessed sin or some legal consent they have been given. The bottom line here is that if you try to cast out demons and they do not, then it is probably related to you not having the Holy Spirit. The power of Jesus and His name is not limited by the opinions of the demonic. Let's discuss the final two steps together.
