This is so sad to have to continue to report on but lives are literally at stake. Right now, California is being devastated by wildfires. This is not a new phenomenon, clearly caused by decades of climate change that is largely ignored by the Republican Party in this country. The Republicans have found a whole gaggle of useful idiots in the pastors of this country. They are willing to regurgitate any talking point, often without waiting for facts or checking the veracity. They mangle scripture, as we saw yesterday from Shane Idleman who irresponsibly speculated that these horrific fires are the judgment of God upon California for its porn industry, Hollywood, child sex trafficking, and debauchery. Never mind that the apocalyptic hurricanes we saw a few months ago were visited upon Christian conservative areas such as the hills of North Carolina and Florida. This was the same nonsense we heard back in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina. That it was God's judgment upon the sinful city of New Orleans. Except it was even more destructive in Biloxi Mississippi, which is known bastion of Christian conservatism. Is God just a poor marksman? What about the fact that the church keeps seeing actual abusers of children be exposed in the pulpit, like Robert Morris and Mike Bickle, just to name two? They were from very Christian conservative states like Texas and Missouri. Why is that not considered judgment? Oh, because the folks in those states voted Republican. What about the fact that faux-pastors like Idleman are clutching their pearls over the debauchery of California while defending and supporting a man who cheated on his first wife with his second wife and his third wife with a porn star? Please. Stop pretending you are so concerned about the holiness of Almighty God when you demand that Christians blindly support a man with 34 felonies and a rape conviction. You look like hypocritical fools and ruin the witness for Christ. It is why 40 million people have left the church in the past 25 years - hypocrisy. It is hard to see anything viler and disgusting than this right now. Seven people are confirmed dead. The entire area is completely destroyed. People's homes and lives ruined. These NAR idiots do not care. They pay lip service to praying for people but their words betray them. This is actually a post on Facebook from Shane Idleman today:

No, it is not that complicated. You are a political whore selling your soul online for your political masters. The problem is that you pretend to be a pastor. For heaven's sake - a pastor! All of these things he lists are not only irresponsible speculation but they are borderline bat poop crazy conspiracy theories designed for one purpose - to blame Democrats and advance a political, agenda. Bad management refers to the Democratic Mayor of LA and Governor of California. As if these fires would not exist if a climate change denying Republican was in charge. We will deal with the reference to arson in a minute but DEW means direct energy weapon. This nutcase charge is that the government used DEW to start these fires on purpose. This is akin to Marjorie Taylor Greene saying Jewish space lasers cause wildfires or when people blamed the recent hurricanes on the government doing "cloud seeding." This kind of nonsense belongs on the fringe of society from people wearing tinfoil hats - not coming out of the mouth that is supposed to be preaching the gospel! Consider the key verses from James. The bible says we will be held to account for every careless word. It is beyond careless to spread disinformation and conspiracy to suit carnal political goals at the expense of people who are dying. It ought not be so. I said this yesterday but the story of the Sons of Thunder asking to call fire down upon the Samaritan village for rejecting Christ is perfectly correlated. In the corrupt hearts of Jack Hibbs and Shane Idleman, Donald Trump is the idol all people must bow down to. States like California, who did not vote to elect Trump, are as reviled as the Sons of Thunder reviled the Samaritans. All Hibbs and Idleman are doing is raining fire down upon the people already fleeing fire literally. Shane also includes here the same irresponsible garbage he posted yesterday just speculating that maybe this is all judgment. He knows better than to declare it is judgment so he just floats it out there so his followers can excuse why they want to believe those California sinners are getting their comeuppance. It is so sickening. Perhaps the ghastliest thing was another post Shane made, reposting something Jack Hibs posted:
"LOS ANGELES COUNTY OFFICIAL has stated that there have been nearly 300 fires set intentionally by acts of arson and or terrorism in and throughout the city by either homeless individuals and or organized arsonists. Los Angeles is under attack by those with a nefarious plot to destroy our lives and property. Every citizen must be vigilant and proactive. Contact your local L.E.O. or Fire Agency. If you see suspicious activity, do what you must to protect your community." - Jack Hibbs
Idleman reposted this and added - "NAILED IT!" Did he Shane? You see, I cannot find any LA County Official who has made this outrageous claim. I am guessing because there was no LA County Official that said this at all. Being vigilant and proactive starts with fact checking your nonsense before spewing it. Hibbs linked a local news report of a man being arrested on suspicion of arson related to the fires that broke out in Woodland Hills. The problem is this story is now 17 hours old and guess what? There was nothing to charge this man for related to the fires. Oops. It took my all of thirty seconds to debunk it. The problem of course is Shane Idleman and Jack Hibbs do not care about the truth. They care about a political ideology they are pimping. So, who cares if you denigrate the homeless as hatching a nefarious plot to destroy people's lives or spread propaganda that there are organized terrorists setting these fires? Anything to avoid the hard discussion that it is their climate change denialism being directly responsible for these fires.
Please do not lose sight of this. Jack Hibbs and Shane Idleman worship a man and a political party, not Almighty God. They have no fear of God, so they exist simply to advance their political agenda. Thery do not care if cities are burning and people's lives are being eviscerated. So, we face a natural disaster of apocalyptic proportions. Somewhere in the bowels of a Republican think tank, they scramble to find talking points designed to disparage Democrats and advance the Republican narrative. They just throw a bunch of bovine excrement at the wall. Poor leadership, 2% budget cuts, out of context comments from an Assistant Fire Chief from years ago, homeless arsonist boogeymen, imaginary water shortages, smelt fish, and the judgment of God Almighty. Anything to feed the red meat to the base that wants so desperately to view everything that disagrees with their confirmation bias as evil. These political ghouls do not care about anyone or anything, other than their own power. So, they enlist NAR useful idiots like Hibbs and Idleman, and send them out there armed with disinformation, irresponsible speculation, and crazy-eyed conspiracy. The truly sad and pathetic thing is they do as they are ordered and build their platforms on the bones of the California victims. Find a random news report that is 17 hours old and run with, even though it has already been debunked. Who cares? The talking point is all that matters.
