Question

By Anthony Wade

Question

::::::::

Question

How did I lose Thee?

When thou were right behind me

In a cold and despairing world

Through the thorns that choke off all hope

Where?

Where art thou?

In the midst of my storm

As the waters crash over the boat that is my life

Tossed about I seek You in the storm but cannot find You

Why?

Why would you leave me?

At my most vulnerable; my neediest

I still only see one set of footprints in the sands of time

At my darkest hour

In my deepest uncertainty

The only question I have left is...

What can I do to find You again?

All fears cast out

All pretensions cast down

Striving to remember who You are

Who?

Who is this King of Glory?

This Prince of Peace

This Lord of Lords

Who is this Lilly of the Valley?

And Bright and Morning Star?

Who is this that spoke everything into existence?

Told the waters this far?

Who sees my beginning and end?

My Alpha and Omega

And most importantly,

How?

How did I lose Thee?

By thinking You could go behind me Psalm 16:8

If You are ever before me, I cannot lose sight

Where were You when my life was capsizing?

You were not in the storm You were in the boat with me Mark 4:38

If I focus on You and not my circumstances, I cannot lose sight

Why would You leave me?

You wouldn't; You couldn't Hebrews 13:5

If I do not lose sight of Your word, I cannot lose sight of You

You carried me in the desert

Satisfied my soul in the parched land

Living waters flow within me

Your word breathes life; sustains

And answers every...
