Choosing Faith

The world fades deeper into grey

No sun to shine on the horizon, so low

The soul feels empty

Bleak vistas through the windows of slow moving train

Day blends into night, into day

Yet will I rejoice?

Rejoice in despair?

Celebrate in agony?

For while the world may not care

His love is everywhere

All around and about and surrounding you

Faith will see you through

Yet though You destroy me

I will praise You

Though my love seems so far away

Faith hides in the recesses of my mind

Through the hopeless and the heartless

Faith can get you through

Through the pain and the sorrow

When you can't see tomorrow

And the horizon begins again to fade...

Shades of grey

In a world of black and white

Yet you are never alone

Never alone

Don't listen to the whispering in your ear

Itching to hear the worst

Because you were bought at a price

The roaring lion must relent

His lies fall to deaf ears

When the faithful stand

Be still, be still

Revelation will be yours

Be still and know

That your faith will see you through

Hold onto the word that has been given to you

To that deposit in your heart

You have been sealed by the Spirit

So do not listen to the idle chatter

Designed to make you doubt

Did He not tell you that if you would just believe

You would see the glory of God?

Doubting Thomas

So easily led astray

So easily ensnared

Your eyes will falter

Your ears betray you

Life is choices and we must choose

What to believe and embrace

But your lying eyes and faulty intuition

Will not be of help to you

Only faith, your measure of faith

Will see you fall or see you through

The promises of God are not void

They are mighty in truth and limitless beyond the capacity of imagination

His timing will test you though

Our patience runs so thin, so fast

His ways are not our ways

Yet we seemingly cannot wait for Him

We cry out for our promise!

Our selfishness prevails

We cry out for our deliverance!

And doubt the truths we already know

Yet will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones?

But will there be faith

Will there be faith on earth

When He returns?

Destroy me oh God and I will still believe

You see all time

Yet I cannot get through this instant

You see the end of all things

Yet I get stuck in a mere moment

Seemingly unable to move on without the mountain being removed for me

Waves crashing around me

The distracting howl of the wind

Put your eyes back on Him

Put His word back on your lips

Let the seed grow again within you

Your faith will see you through.
