NAR Dominionist Idolatry on Display - Examining Who is Surrounding the President
By Anthony Wade
One of the refrains from the NAR dominionist leaders is the "godly" counsel surrounding their idol. Let's take a look at that...
::::::::
It is time to be brutally honest about the state of what passes for the church today in America. Please before reading, do not confuse your political preferences with your Christian responsibilities. They do not mix, and God never intended for you to mix them. Every single election is always the choice of a lesser evil, but the problem is when you zealously advocate for your perceived lesser evil. The problem is when you confer righteousness unto your evil and pretend that this evil, is somehow God's choice. A holy God does not choose evil, ever. He is no respecter of person, period. The last idol of the church age is this NAR dominionist cancer that has metastasized throughout the body of Christ. It is the great falling away foretold in Thessalonians. The adoration and veneration of Donald Trump is the very definition if idolatry. That is not a commentary on any other politician or political party. I have to say that because of the reflexive way that NAR adherents play whataboutism games instead of facing their idolatry. Yesterday, I commented on a Facebook post from MAGA hireling, Shane Idleman. In it, he declared how it was somehow proof of godliness that Trump surrounds himself with godly counsel. Today, I want to unpack that because if he were to surround himself with such, that would certainly be a good thing. Conversely, if those that surround him are ungodly and false teachers, that would by definition prove that he is the opposite of "God's choice." So, Charisma News, who has championed Donald Trump since he rode down the golden escalator in 2015, gathered some reaction from church leaders to the inauguration yesterday and summarized them in the above linked article. Let us reason once more through what was said and more importantly who is saying it. Who it is that is surrounding the NAR idol that should serve as a warning to those who claim the mantle of Jesus Christ.
The first offering comes from uber-dominionist false teacher Jack Hibbs. Once respected, Hibbs has devolved into a clear idol worshipper, threatening anyone who was planning on not voting for Mr. Trump, or even those who were thinking of not voting at all, with the eternal punishment of hell. You have that right. He wrote a month before the election that anyone who did not vote as he commanded, was unsaved and going to hell. Salvation was no longer by saving faith in Christ. Instead, salvation was based upon a carnal vote for a convicted rapist and who had an affair with a porn star. That is the definition of a cult and idolatry. Mr. Hibbs tweeted yesterday:
"WELCOME TO AMERICA - "Happy is the nation whose God is Yahweh - the people He has chosen to be His own possession!" - psalm 33:12. May God have mercy on these United States for benevolent welfare of all who live freedom. Protect Now President Donald John Trump." - Jack Hibbs
So, according to this false teacher, the fact that less than 50% of the people voted for the man who has 34 other felonies on top of his rape conviction, means America's God is Yahweh. I do not recall Mr. Hibbs making any similar prayer for mercy when Joe Biden was elected in 2020. This is not a true Christian leader beloved. This is not a serious man of the gospel. Hibbs is a political shill. As is the next person surrounding the president - Greg Locke. Mr. Locke made his bones by holding book burnings in the backyard of his church. He also wrote that not only would democratic voters be going to hell but that they were literally unredeemable. Get that? They were beyond the ability of Christ to even save. Mr. Locke also had an affair on his wife with his secretary and then divorced her to marry the secretary, cause you know, Jesus. His new adulteress wife then "surprised" her new adulterer husband for his birthday by asking another false teacher, Malachi O'Brien, to anoint them both apostles. That is how the lunatic Greg Locke became an apostle. Because his adulteress wife asked someone to say he was. Mr. Locke tweeted yesterday, "America is about to come up for air and breathe again." Yes Greg. Last night, your idol pardoned over 1000 violent criminals who beat up cops with flag poles, tasers, and fire extinguishers. Cause you know, Jesus. Greg Laurie, whose theology has taken a tumble in the last few years, tweeted, "Congratulations to Donald J. Trump on being elected as the 47th President of the United States of America," May the Lord surround him with godly people who provide wise counsel as he leads our nation during this critical time in American history. God bless him, and God bless the United States of America!" Yes, godly counsel. Let me offer up this next nugget from disgraced fugitive from church discipline, Mark Driscoll:
"Ahab is out and Elijah is in,"- Mark Driscoll
For the uninitiated, Mark used to run Mars Hill Church in Seattle. He stole over $200,000 in tithes to hire a marketing firm to cheat the NY Times Best Seller list so his book could make more sales. Cause you know, Jesus. Am I right? He was so abusive as a leader that his own handpicked board was set to discipline him when he packed his family up in a U-Haul in the middle of the night and ran away. You know, as "pastors" are prone to do. He then emerged in Arizona with a new flock to bully and fleece. He wrote a book pretending he knows who Jesus Christ would vote for and surprise! It is the adjudicated rapist. This tweet sums up nicely the sheer audacious idolatry of the NAR. This is the core of the problem beloved. It is never enough to simply say that Donald Trump would be best for the country or even the church. He instead has to be deified. The Faustian bargain requires you not only to worship him but to change reality and make him holy, or biblical. Charisma News throughout the last nine years has insisted that he was the second coming of King Cyrus or King Jehu, with a Deborah anointing. He was originally presented as a baby Christian in 2016 and then after the assassination attempt in 2024, they were declaring that now he was definitely saved. One of the more disturbing notions offered however was hat he was actually Elijah or had an Elijah mantle. In case you were wondering if I was just being hyperbolic, Mark reminds us that they actually believe this nonsense. Joe Biden is now King Ahab and the guy with the porn star affair? That's Elijah. We all remember when Elijah said he could grab women by their genitals because the Lord made him famous? No? If you have a sliver of discernment, you must realize how absurdly heretical and insulting to God this is. Cults and idolatry always are insulting to a holy God. What about Franklin Graham?
"I was honored to give an invocation at our nation's 60th presidential inauguration ceremony before President @realDonaldTrump and Vice President @JDVance were sworn in today," writes Graham. "I urged those in attendance to stand still and remember the great things that God has done for this country and to keep our eyes fixed on Him. Will you join me in praying for President Trump and our leaders?" - Franklin Graham
Mr. Graham is a political operative cosplaying as a pastor. He is entirely a political animal who only serves the Republican Party. He has made his deal with the devil and is now trying to sell that deal to you as well. It was Graham who singlehandedly bridged the gap to the Evangelical vote in 2015 for Trump. Well, after Trump donated six figures to the two "charities" Graham runs. Charities is in air quotes only because back then, Franklin was earning over $800,000 in salaries from those two organizations. Good gig if you can land it. He came under some scrutiny for it though, so he figured out how to game the system. He petitioned the IRS to reclassify these two charities as a "collective of churches." This allowed him to keep his salaries private to this day, which must be far in excess of a million dollars per year. Cause you know, Jesus. Next up is the renowned false teacher, Jentzen Franklin:
"Congratulations @RealDonaldTrump! Thank you for giving God the glory for your presidency. He will bless this." - Jentzen Franklin
God does not bless words Jentzen. The Pharisees also had plenty of pious words. Just a few months ago the same guy giving God the "glory" was telling million of people on TV that our Haitian brothers and sisters were eating pets in Ohio. This is how the NAR operates, however. They always point to the words people say instead of the deeds they actually do. So, Mr. Trump throws the apostate church some red meat by saying "God" but then at night he pardons over 1000 violent felons. Once again, that is the very definition of cultish idolatry. The idol can never do anything wrong or ever be held vaguely accountable. His enemies are your enemies.
This is just a taste. A smattering of the absolute loony tunes hirelings that exalt their idol and insist you must as well. The president's first "spiritual advisor" was Paula White! That is someone who once said God told her that 1Chronicles 22:9 meant you were supposed to send her $229! Do we seriously think this is normal? Or vaguely biblical? If you honestly think that Jesus is reviewing your voting record when you stand before Him for judgment, then I will pray for your salvation. Like Jesus is going to be saying, "Hey I'd like to let you in but, Clinton in 96? What were you thinking!" It doesn't work that way! Just consider the sheer lunacy of Locke and Hibbs' positions. That salvation would be entirely dependent upon a carnal, political vote, instead of believing in the finished work of the cross. Instead of Jesus being the focal point of salvation, Donald Trump is.
THAT is idolatry. He is not Elijah. He is not King Jehu. He is a billionaire real estate tycoon. You may conclude that he is your lesser evil but even then, he remains evil. God is not going to want to hear how you defended your evil. He is not going to want to hear how you made others feel that they were hell bound for disagreeing with your assessment. We should not be bowing down at any political altar beloved.
Cause you know, Jesus.
