Shane Idleman, MAGA Pastor Peddling Lies, Conspiracy and Ruining the Cause of Christ
By Anthony Wade
It appears Shane Idleman is auditioning for Dr. Brown's role as NAR dominionist gatekeeper...
::::::::
The godly hate lies; the wicked cause shame and disgrace. - Proverbs 13:5 (NLT)
Shane Idleman used to be a gospel centric preacher. At the onset of COVID though he found his California church closed, as it should have been, to prevent the spreading of a deadly pandemic that ended up killing over seven million people. He did not like that because as a cult of personality, purpose driven pastor, his grift could not survive without the Sunday meeting to generate the tithes. It really is that simple beloved. Pastors across this country cozied up to extreme political forces and conspiracy theory idiots because of money, period full stop. From that point, where Idleman reveled in sticking his thumb in the eye of his state's authority, in clear violation of Romans 13, he reopened his church in the height of the plague. Moving forward the NAR dominionist virus spread through his theology to the point where we find him today screaming all aboard the Trump train! In the wake of the Dr. Michael Brown scandal, Idleman appears to be auditioning to replace his role on the Steven Strang Charisma News gravy train. We saw this recently with his absurd article defending the wolves of these scandals at the expense of the victim sheep. A quick perusing of his Facebook page reveals a man that is completely beholden to carnal politics, cosplaying as a Christian leader. Quite frankly it is delusional and dangerous.
Nearly every post he makes has some kind of angle to support the Republican Party and it doesn't matter how bat-poop crazy or inaccurate it is. Now, you may be wondering what the big deal is. I am glad you asked. As we see in the key verse from Proverbs, the godly are supposed to hate lies. How much more is a man charged with leading the church? What do you teach your sheep if you are so casual about lying for the utter carnality of politics? The world has entered into the end times by embracing "alternative facts," which is an oxymoron. There are only facts and deceit. Shane Idleman has embraced deceit and tries to wrap it up in Jesus. That damages the witness and cause of Christ. Forty million people have left the church in the past 25 years and the number one reason they give is hypocrisy. For example, in one post this week Idleman wrote:
"I hope everyone is waking up to just how corrupt our government is " even manufacturing a lot of what happened on January 6" - Shane Idleman
Beloved this is simply vile and disgusting. I expect political forces to try and lie and rewrite history but not someone claiming to be a pastor. For the morally bankrupt Idleman let's make sure we do not dishonor the sacrifice of law enforcement that day. There were 138 officers (73 Capitol Police and 65 Metropolitan Police) injured, of whom 15 were hospitalized, some with severe injuries. One had two cracked ribs and two smashed spinal discs; another lost an eye. One was stabbed with a metal fence stake. One was crushed between a door and a riot shield. Four more committed suicide in the ensuing days after the attack. The insurgents were not tourists. They were not peaceful. They were rioters committing insurrection - stop lying about it. Did God not care about these dead and injured police officers? What good does making these disgustingly false statements do for the gospel Shane? The government did not manufacture anything about January 6th. Idleman also posted today about a trip he is currently on where he attended an interview by the vile right wing provocateur Charlie Kirk and Donald Trump Jr. What would that have to do with being a Christian pastor? Absolutely nothing. The worst thing though is the posting of a meme that is so horrifically false and seeks to turn people away from discovering the truth by maligning media. The meme asks how many media hoaxes did you fall for. As we review some of the worst on this list, remember this is a man pretending he is a pastor.
1. Russian Collusion - This is a favorite rewrite of history employed by political forces on the right. It was determined through a Republican investigation that there WAS collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. This is a provable, obvious fact. They also determined that a Department of Justice standing rule said you could not indict a sitting president and that was the ONLY reason President Trump avoided being charged. By the way, 34 people were indicted from this investigation with eight felony convictions, five of which worked for the Trump campaign. I understand why political operatives lie about these things but someone claiming to be a pastor? Just sickening.
2. Trump called Neo Nazis "Fine People" - Uhm, yes, he did. That was in fact his exact quote about "both sides" at a neo-Nazi rally. Not exactly the best look for someone acting as a church leader to be defending this garbage.
3. Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation - the media REPORTED, which last time I checked was their job, about intelligence professionals writing a letter that said the story about the laptop had all the earmarks of classic Russian disinformation. It of course DID have all of the earmarks of such and either way, reporting about the letter does not mean it was a "media hoax."
4. Governor Witmer kidnapping plot - not sure how this was a hoax as 14 people were indicted and eight people are in jail for multiple decades. Why any Christian, let alone a cosplaying pastor would lie about this boggles the mind and undermines the gospel.
5. Kavanaugh rape - Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was credibly accused of rape. The fact that he was still approved by a strict party line vote does not change these facts. It is so reprehensible for "Pastor" Idleman to essentially mock the woman in this case as if she must have been lying.
6. Trump said drinking bleach would fight COVID - uhm, close. His exact quote was, "And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?" He said this with a graphic that listed bleach as the first disinfectant. So, he did not say drink, he said inject. Why are we acting like this was a media hoax when he said we should look into injecting bleach?
7. Trump saved nuclear secrets at Mar-a-Lago. - Yes, he did. That is exactly what he was charged with before his buddy judge that he appointed dismissed the case for bogus reasons.
8. Trump tax cuts only benefited the rich - this is another deceitful practice of political whores. Nobody in the media reported that the tax cuts ONLY benefited the rich. What they correctly reported is the vast majority of them went to the rich, which they did.
9. Trump used tear gas to clear a crowd for a bible photo - yes, he did. These are confirmed facts that are not difficult to fact check. Shane Idleman does not even vaguely care about the truth. If the meme supports his political idol, then he is going to post it. As a Christian. And a pastor.
10. Ivermectin is a horse dewormer not meant for human consumption - once again, yes. This is not a hoax; it is undeniably true. Not only is it true but to suggest otherwise is scientifically moronic and last time I checked, Shane Idleman is not a doctor. He is not even a Christian leader, as he pretends to be.
These are just the top ten. The rest were just as despicable, unchristian and falsely being claimed as media hoaxes. That includes acting like January 6th was not an insurrection and the Trump did not mock a reporter with a disability when he clearly did. Look, we live in a free country where people can believe whatever confirms their bias but as Christians, we are supposed to by citizens of heaven and there are no political parties in heaven. We are supposed hate lies and quite frankly if we do not, we should seriously consider our salvation. These matters listed here are not nebulous or unknown. If you can watch the tapes from January 6th and think anything other than it was a violent insurrection then you are lying to yourself and the dead testify against your lies. A group of these violent thugs defecated in the well of the Senate and then stopped to pray to Jesus Christ, thanking Him for their success that day. When you casually support lies like Shane Idleman, that is who you end up standing with. Shane Idleman has devolved to the point where he is not even recognizable as a pastor or even a Christian anymore. When we allow carnal politics to corrupt us to the point of having disdain and contempt for the truth, we have left the cause of Jesus Christ.
