Charisma News Continues to Bury Their Readers in Political Propaganda
By Anthony Wade
A political article dump over the weekend by Charisma News continues to reveal the utter disdain they have for the truth and their readers...
::::::::
Charisma News is operated by uber-dominionist, Steven Strang. He is a political operative not so cleverly disguised as a Christian leader. He takes his marching orders from his true masters in the Republican Party. For the past month Charisma has been a literal onslaught of one political article after another, disparaging anyone from having any independent thought. It is not enough to just say, hey we like Mr. Trump. Instead, they have to "trump" him up into the second coming of any biblical figure they can imagine, like recently saying he was King Jehu. Additionally, they have to demonize anyone with the temerity to not vote as they intend to. They have platformed lunatics like Greg Locke and Mario Murillo, who are on record as saying that anyone who votes Democratic, is actually unsaved and irredeemable. Did you get that? Saving faith is no longer what makes one saved but rather voting in carnal elections for unsaved carnal men and women. Even Jack Gibbs joined this team last week by declaring that we will answer for our votes when we stand before Christ. I know many people once revered Gibbs but he has obviously lost his theological mind. Realize the 30 pieces of silver Gibbs is selling you here. If you cast your vote for the thrice married, thrice unfaithful, sleeping with porn stars, six times bankrupt, grabbing women by their genitals, convicted rapist with 34 other felonies - you're safe on Judgment Day. If you do not however, you are going to hell. Beloved, I cannot begin to express how wrong and dangerous this garbage is. When Christ walked the earth, He was completely apolitical. His kingdom is not of this earth. We have citizenship in heaven and God does not allow dual citizenship. We are supposed to be pilgrims and sojourners through this land, not setting up tents facing Sodom.
In addition to these radically false teachers, Strang also sends out emissaries to basically say the same thing but in a more tempered way. Strang himself, Michael Snyder and Dr. Michael Brown have all written in the past month that there is no way that a Christian can vote a Democratic candidate. They have that right as Americans but when they offer it up as a Christian leader, they are essentially staking out the same claim as Locke, Murillo and Gibbs. Charisma sent out more false teachers this weekend to assert the same. First, this is an actual quote from dominionist Eddie Hyatt:
"On Nov. 5, I will vote. I will not be voting according to party or personality. I will be voting according to principles and policies expressed by the candidates and their party platforms. As it now stands, my faith will not allow me to vote for a Democrat." - Eddie Hyatt
Soooo, you won't be voting according to party but cannot vote for one party? It sure seems like you are voting based on party you hypocrite. Hyatt's specialty is not only butchering scripture but American history. Hyatt always presents colonial America as an evangelical Shangri-La but has to seriously rewrite history to accomplish it. In a different article from this weekend, Hyatt offered three examples of how Jesus ruled early America. The problem is the first example had to do with how George Washington, who was a third-degree mason, implored the Delaware tribes of indigenous people to learn the religion of Jesus Christ. Hyatt conveniently left out that this address was after the tribes had signed a peace treaty with the new America. Shortly after that however, we forced them to cede their lands and they moved as far west as Ohio and Indiana. Not exactly a banner advertisement for Christianity but quite telling as Hyatt routinely glosses over the genocide we visited upon the Native Americans, while imploring them to learn about Jesus. The more troubling example he provided however, dealt with Thomas Jefferson:
"Although Thomas Jefferson was known to have questioned the deity of Jesus, he was convinced that the moral teachings of Jesus were the key to a stable and prosperous society. Take, for example, the so-called Jefferson Bible, which is a misleading misnomer by modern historians. Jefferson titled it "The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth," and in it, he meticulously brought together the teachings of Jesus into a single volume for his own study but also for evangelizing and instructing Native American tribes." - Eddie Hyatt
Jefferson did not merely question the deity of Jesus Christ; he completely removed it from the bible. He completely removed all of His miracles. Jefferson was a deist, and PBS describes Jefferson as "subscribing to the liberal religious strand of Deism that values reason over revelation and rejects traditional Christian doctrines, including the Virgin Birth, original sin and the resurrection of Jesus." So, Jefferson did not bring Jesus to anyone but rather his own bastardized version of Christ, which the bible expressly warns us about. Who cares if you are evangelizing people with a false Christ and a false bible? Answer - Eddie Hyatt. Except he does not really care. All he cares about is getting you to vote Republican and if he has to slander American history and the gospel to do it? So be it. This second article from Hyatt claims that there was a "Jesus revolution" in early America. As examples of "fruit" from this revolution, Hyatt offers up that Americans became more "tolerant people." I am sure that the indigenous people and slaves would disagree. I am sure that kids who would end up working in sweatshops to feed the robber barons would disagree. I am sure the countries we conquered during Imperialism would disagree. That was not even the most insulting "fruit" Hyatt listed. That would be this:
"Slavery became anathema throughout America. In my book "1726," I have documented how a powerful abolition movement was ignited by this Jesus awakening that turned every Founding Father against slavery at a time it was accepted and practiced in most of the world. Impacted by the awakening, abolitionists used the teachings of Jesus to oppose slavery, saying that if people lived by His teachings, such as "love your neighbor as yourself" and "do unto others as you would have them do unto you," it would quickly put an end to slavery (Hyatt, 1726, 98-99)" - Eddie Hyatt
You have got to be kidding me. First of all, it is academic malpractice to cite yourself, as if you are citing a source. That aside, remember, the book he cited claims that the year 1726 started a great awakening that led to this nonsensical sense of slavery becoming anathema. Except slavery would not end for almost another 140 years. Yeah, that was real anathema Eddie. I might add that we then dealt with horrific treatment of African Amer4icans for at least another hundred years after that. Most of the Founding Fathers Hyatt venerates, including Washington, owned slaves until they died. Washington passed his on to his wife at his death. The United States was one of the LAST countries to abolish slavery and we had to fight a Civil War over it. It is true that many in the north were abolitionists but Eddie always pretends as if there was not another half of this country that fought to the death to keep their slaves and used the bible to justify it. Slavery did not end quickly beloved. This is not to bad mouth America, who has done a great deal of good in history but we should not be embracing lies as Christians.
Also, on this weekend Charisma ran another political article from Dr. Michael Brown, who always tries to strike a reasonable tone amidst unreasonable positions. They also ran an absurd piece claiming that Donald Trump is the fulfillment of prophecy. They ran a third piece arguing that Christians cannot abstain from voting. These are all within a two-day period and comes on the heels of last week that saw the Gibbs article calling the Democratic Party a "death cult." Sadly ironic and tone-deaf considering he is advocating for the party that refuses to do anything to curtail the proliferation of assault weapons as we saw yet another school shooting this week. Also, this past week Charisma ran a two-part series from another dominionist and false apostle, Joseph Mattera, abusing the Ten Commandments into a vote for Donald Trump. Beloved, Charisma News is in the business of trying to co-opt your vote and they try to accomplish this by wrapping their choice in Christianese and butchered bible verses. When that does not work, they butcher American history. It is not good enough to simply say they think their choice is a lesser evil. Instead, they have to make him righteous when he is not. Instead, they have to try and guilt or scare their readers in complicity. Instead of saving faith, we now will be judge based upon which carnal man or woman we voted for. That is blasphemy. Pray and vote as you feel led. Do not be guilted by snake oil salesmen like Locke, Murillo, Brown, Hyatt, Gibbs, Mattera, or any of the other Charisma News hucksters Steven Strang trots out there. The only credible argument a Christian can make for voting is that they have determined the lesser of two evils and we are free to make that determination. Let us always remember two important distinctions. First of all, our opinion, is merely our opinion. It does not make it right or righteous. Secondly, we should never be caught defending evil, no matter how lesser we have assumed it might be.
I checked with God just now, so let me share a prophetic word with you. God will still be on the throne November 6th. He assures us He will not be surprised nor dismayed. He says He will still accomplish His purposes regardless of who wins. He reminds us that He does not need, nor has He asked for our help. He never asked for us to create a theocracy and America, has never been under covenant with Him. He has charged us with one thing and one thing only and that is the gospel. It is high time we got back to it.
