Steven Strang Gaslights Charisma News Readers to Co-Opt Their Vote
By Anthony Wade
The assault from Charisma News and Steven Strang upon Christian voters has begun in earnest...
::::::::
"You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; you shall not lie to one another. You shall not swear by my name falsely, and so profane the name of your God: I am the Lord. - Leviticus 19:11-12 (ESV)
As we have been saying for a few weeks now, Charisma News has started its onslaught against Christians to try and co-opt their votes for their political masters. The head of Charisma is Uber-NAR dominionist Steven Strang. The opening salvos Strang has relegated to his minions on Charisma, as the main page is inundated with one political article after another designed to make you think that the only "Christian vote" plausible is for the three times married, three times unfaithful, twice divorced, six times bankrupt, convicted rapist, and 34-time felon, Donald Trump. Today however, Strang has decided to make his case directly with two articles. While, we will cover both the above link is to the shorter piece providing five reasons he thinks Trump could "overcome" his opponents. Because you know, that's what Jesus would be doing right? No mention of the gospel, this is pure carnality because Strang is a political operative disguised as a Christian leader. Realize there is a vast difference between thinking Trump is somehow the lesser of two evils and conferring righteousness upon him. Let us reason once more together.
'"There's a feeling almost everywhere that there is something seriously wrong in America," I wrote in my latest book, "Spirit-Led Living in an Upside-Down World." That's stating the obvious for those of us who see the Judeo-Christian values our nation was built on eroding before our eyes. But with the attempted assassination of Donald Trump on July 13, and then the powers that be in the Democratic Party forcing President Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race, many non-Christians are also saying something has gone wrong and are beginning to back Donald Trump. You don't have to be religious to believe it was a miracle that a bullet aimed at former President Trump's head nicked his ear instead. Even Trump, not known for being overly spiritual, said at the Republican National Convention, "It was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening." He added: "We will fear not, but instead remain resilient in our faith and defiant in the face of wickedness." After the attempt on his life, former President Trump appears to be a bit more reflective, more willing to be led by God through the Holy Spirit, versus the bombastic New York real estate king most of us have been familiar with for many years. With his Democrat opponents in some disarray so far following Biden's withdrawal, I think Trump is better situated for election victory than he was eight years ago in 2016. Biden's remarks in his address Wednesday night, while charitable and pleasant, did nothing to make his party's candidate more appealing. Here are five reasons that Trump's difficulties, rough edges and trials might have prepared him to be reelected to the Oval Office and also fulfill the many prophetic words about his two terms in office.' - Steven Strang
Let's start with the OBVIOUS nonsense Strang appears ready to sell. According to this, if Trump gets elected it will fulfill many prophecies about two terms. No, it absolutely would not. The fake Trump prophets, which was the majority of the NAR gaggle of false prophets, prophesied that he would win in 2020, not that he would serve two unrelated terms. This constant shifting of the goalposts is common from the false prophets Strang platforms. Next, for the umpteenth time, it is not a miracle that the 20-year-old kid missed when trying to assassinate Trump. This arrogant and stupid narrative casts God as capricious because he was willing to save Trump, but kill the religious churchgoer, Corey Compertore. This callous belief is not lost on the world and does not serve the cause of Christ at all. Thirdly, Trump is more reflective? More willing to be led by God? Less bombastic? Consider this quote from two days ago:
'"You know, I was supposed to be nice. They say, something happened to me when I got shot"I became nice. And when you're dealing with these people"they're very dangerous people"when you're dealing with them, you can't be too nice. You really can't be. So if you don't mind, I'm not going to be nice. Is that ok?"' - Donald Trump
It sure seems like Trump himself is disavowing this notion of being a changed man. Strang knows this but he is trying to sell Trump to Christians, so he "Christianizes" him as best he can, without much to work with. Part of that is downplaying things like being a convicted rapist and the 34 felony counts as being mere, "rough edges." They are not. They are who he is. Can you imagine for one second if Joe Biden had a conviction for sexual assault? These hypocrisies are a stench in the nostrils of God. What Strang is doing is trying to play up positive things to be more than they really are because he is only concerned that you vote and for his boy. So, let us see these five reasons:
"1. Strong Base Support. One of the primary reasons Donald Trump could earn victory is the unwavering support of his base. Despite controversies and polarizing rhetoric, which I believe are just the result of his being the "disrupter" we need now, Trump's supporters have remained loyal, perhaps never more so than this past few weeks in the aftermath of the thankfully failed assassination attempt. His base is characterized by high voter turnout and passionate advocacy.
Trump's ability to galvanize his base is a critical factor in his electoral strategy, providing a reliable foundation for his campaigns. And that includes many in the Christian community who may not like the Republican party or some of Trump's tweets but who resonate with his policies, if only because they are the opposite of the Democrat policies of pro-abortion, pro-transsexual, open borders, more government spending and more." - Steven Strang
What Strang relies upon is blind support from people who he hopes never checks his fake facts. It is true that his ardent base will never see the truth but that base is no bigger than 30% of the electorate and has shrunk greatly since his 2016 run when he had the benefit of being unknown politically and running against the most polarizing candidate ever in Hillary Clinton. Remember, he still lost that election by three million votes and only gained the White house because of our archaic electoral college system. In 2020 his base had dwindled and he lost by seven million votes. Yes, he lost. As for his policies remember that since Roe was overturned, abortions have increased, not decreased. The government spending canard forgets to mention that the deficit grew by almost eight trillion dollars under Trump, so spare me the fiscal conservative talking point.
"2. Media Savvy and Communication Skills. Donald Trump's proficiency in media manipulation and his unique communication style give him an edge over his opponents. Trump's use of social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter), Truth Social and most recently TikTok, has allowed him to directly reach millions of supporters without the traditional media filters. His ability to dominate news cycles, set the agenda and respond rapidly to events have been hallmarks of his political strategy." - Steven Strang
No real disagreement here. Trump was created by reality television and he works it magically. I would point out that manipulating the media should not exactly endear him to Christians. You remember Christians, right Steven? What Strang refers to as manipulation, we know as lies. What Strang refers to as "filters" we know as the truth. What Trump has done to politics as make the truth malleable. Instead of absolute truth, which we are supposed to believe in as Christians, we now accept "alternate facts" because Trump manipulates so well. It is rather stunning that Strang can make this point with a straight face as a point Christians should somehow embrace.
"3. Economic Messaging. Trump's focus on economic issues, particularly during his first term in office, resonates with a significant portion of the electorate from both sides and especially the undecided middle. His promises to bring back jobs, renegotiate trade deals and lower taxes appeal to voters concerned about economic security and prosperity, not least in the ongoing aftermath of Bidenomics policies following the COVID pandemic. Despite criticisms of his economic policies, many Americans believed they were better off through Trump's first term. While the Democrats have their own economic platforms, Trump's messaging on jobs and economic growth has carried wide appeal, especially among working-class voters in key swing states." - Steven Strang
This narrative of being better off under Trump is pure fiction. He inherited a booming economy and then gave tax cuts, disproportionally to the top one percent of wage earners. Sure, some scraps made it to the bottom 60%, about 13% of the tax cut but to pretend this was some kind of a boon is fiscally moronic. Not to mention, Trump than botched the COVID response that decimated the economy. I guess not enough people shot bleach into their arms. His new proposal is an incredibly stupid 10% tariff on all goods. Do you know who pays for tariffs? The consumer. I know he desperately wants the working man vote but it is probably not going to happen. He is a billionaire who was given millions by has daddy and then bankrupted half the endeavors he tried. His running mate made his fortune as a hedge fund scammer. This is not a "working man" ticket. This is the messaging Strang needs to resonate. This is what his Republican masters have told him to do so he is trying his level best in the hopes that you will forget how horrific things were. Does anyone remember having to hoard toilet paper?
"4. Outsider Persona. Trump's "maverick" style as a political outsider continues to be a compelling narrative for many voters. His ability to position himself against the so-called "deep state" establishment resonates with many who have grown more disillusioned with traditional politics over the past few decades. This outsider image contrasts sharply with the public perceptions of Kamala Harris and other Democrats, who often are seen as part of the elite of the deeply entrenched political class. Trump's rhetoric of challenging the status quo and "draining the swamp" taps into deep-seated desires for change among certain voter demographics, offering a stark alternative to the established political figures." - Steven Strang
Only the twisted mind of the NAR can make the daughter of immigrants, whose mother was a breast cancer scientist, into an "elite"; while Trump was born with a golden spoon in his mouth and received over 400 million dollars from his father's fortune. Do not allow yourself to be gaslit like this beloved. If you want to vote Trump, knock your socks off just do not do it because you think he is the every man that cares about you. Harris has her issues but she was elected District Attorney and then Senator, and then was chosen to be Vice President. I agree that the slick marketing Trump uses and catch phrases like drain the swamp are appealing but they are not reality based. The people he surrounded himself were just as swampy, they just bowed the knee, and not to God per se.
"5. Polarizing Figure." While being a "disrupter" can be a double-edged sword, for Trump it often works to his advantage by solidifying his support base. His ability to evoke strong emotional responses, both positive and negative, keeps him at the center of political discourse, optimizing every angle from the middle against his opponents and their perpetual allies across the media landscape. This polarization can demotivate or divide his opponents' supporters, as seen in previous elections." - Steven Strang
He has lost every election he has been in. First by three million votes and then by seven million. Strang is right that it may be because he is so polarizing and many see him not as a disruptor but a narcissistic politician that is ultimately no better than other and, in many ways, far worse. The problem Strang has is he is trying to sell someone who is devoid of any true Christianity. That is true of what he says and what policies he puts forth. So, since 2016, Strang and Charisma have tried mightily to apply a patina of Christian air to him that he continues to prove he does not have. In 2016 Charisma likened Trump to King Cyrus from the bible. We heard tall tales of his conversion in accepting Christ that was quickly shot down. Then he was said to be carrying an Elijah mantle. No wait, it was a Deborah anointing. This silliness continued up until the loss in 2020. Now, Strang is ready to try a new one:
"I believe God's hand is on Donald Trump, not because he is a righteous man but because God has allowed him to be raised up as an outsider as He did with King Jehu in the Old Testament, the one who defeated Queen Jezebel. Now we see a miracle in Trump's life being spared and we see his political foes in disarray. It reminds me of how God confused the enemies of Israel where they defeated themselves. "However, we cannot be complacent. There are strong forces opposing Trump and the values he stands for. Recently, we saw conservatives in Europe with election victories, and then the Left came back and won the next round of election. So, each of us must do our part. We must pray, we must discern the times as the sons of Issachar did, we must be strong and rally support in our circles of influence and we must pray that America will turn toward the Lord. It will take more than a political election to do that, but putting Trump in the White House gives us a reprieve. While his opponents"already publicly declared or waiting in the wings following President Biden's remarks Wednesday evening"each bring their own strengths and unique appeal, Trump's distinct advantages portend a vigorously contended season in what already is turning out to be the most upside-down election in American history.-- - Steven Strang
Sure. Donald Trump is just like King Jehu. How insultingly assaultive to scripture. Note that what Strang is inferring is that the Democratic Party is the evil Queen Jezebel in this analogy. The Dems are the enemies in this analogy. By the way, while it was true they were in disarray a few weeks ago, they sure seem on one page now. Never mind that Jehu eventually would lose the favor of God because he continued idol worship. In that way maybe he is closer to Trump. Strang knows this argument is laughable so he again calls for what? Your vote. That is all this was ever about. The values Trump stands for? What values? Rape? Committing felonies? Bankrupting companies? Shooting protestors? Impoverishing the poor? Tax cuts for the rich? Project 2025? Can you see the insult Strang is selling here! Voting for Donald Trump is not "turning to the Lord!" No carnal vote is turning to the Lord! Like, I have always said. Vote as you feel led or do not vote at all. God does not care one iota about our perceived lesser evils and our carnal politics. Kamala Harris is not God's candidate and neither is Donald Trump. Do not let political operatives like Steven Strang and the NAR gaslight you and lie to you in order to co-opt your vote. Charisma News continues to prove they do not care about the gospel. They only care about serving their political masters and it starts with the leader of the pack, Steven Strang. Since Strang did not bother citing any scripture, I will provide the key verse, which is God laying down some of the law for His people. You shall not deal falsely. You shall not lie to one another. You shall not profane the name of the Lord. When you read this and other Charisma News political articles, mediate on these verses.
