For those with an ounce of discernment the fact that IHOPKC has always been a dangerous cult was fairly obvious. They were always fairly cloistered off to their own, very critical of opposing viewpoints and very mystical regarding their views and beliefs. Stories were always available from those who survived, which told horrific tales of abuse and cult like behaviors and demands. On the other side, IHOPKC was a forerunner, pun intended, for the modern Charismaniacal movement. It was viewed as a bastion of prophetic movement and the 24-7 prayer model was mimicked across the Charismaniacal world. Thus, IHOPKC enjoyed an insulation of sorts from prying eyes that might speak ill of it. We saw this recently when at a roundtable prior to the recent Bicklegate revelations, Dr. Michael Brown and Sam Storms both vehemently defended the IHOPKC leader, founder and now exposed predator, Mike Bickle. Storms actually said:

"I know this man to the depths of his soul. I cannot think of a more biblically orthodox, humble, Christ exalting individual who lives an incredibly simple lifestyle. So, when I hear people say that he is a false teacher it angers me because I know the individual. I know the man personally." - Sam Storms

This is what cults and cult leaders do, however. This is the same way people spoke about Ravi Zacharias. It is the same way people today speak about Joseph Prince or Joel Osteen. There is no questioning the leader or the organization. It is not hyperbolic to say that along this same continuum is Jonestown. Go back to 2014 and read the articles surrounding the murder of Bethany Deaton at IHOPKC. Read the accounts of how this group of IHOPKC students lived and behaved together. It is chilling in light of all the revelations today. IHOPKC leadership was allowed to blow this story off as if they were some rogue element of an otherwise solid teaching structure. Nonsense! IHOP killed Bethany Deaton. They would have gotten away with a lot more if the IHOP model apologists had their way but thanks to brave victims, we are at the tip of a very revealing and demonic iceberg. I say this as the background to the story linked above because the defenders of the IHOP model will try to dismiss it because it references an investigation from 12 years ago, even though it is now coming to light. Do not fall for that. This reveals the truth behind all of the cultish behaviors at IHOPKC. It exposes why the model was never from God. It reinforces why IHOPKC needs to be shuttered and the false 24-7 prayer model needs to be eradicated.

Let us set the stage. In 2012, a parent of an IHOPKC Forerunner School student was concerned that their child came back from IHOP very different than when they went. Fearing what might be actually going on, they hired an organization to conduct an investigation. That organization conducted a 16-week investigation, where they sent reporters imbedded as students to uncover the truth. The initial impressions from the above link is that there was little in the way of personalization at IHOP. The young students never seemed happy or vibrant. They all had the same message that IHOP is the only church doing things the right way and is the new emerging church in the world. The investigators reported a zombie feel throughout the campus. They all used insider lingo and if you did not know it, you were treated like outsider. Everyone looks acts and speaks the same. There is no individuality. These are important findings as they reveal prototypical cult behavior, where individuality is not allowed and a singular mindset, usually of superiority is enforced. So now, let us reason together through the link above.

"Students were all in early twenties. They were required to journal and submit their journals to their team leaders on a weekly basis. Some of the journaling assignments were specific and of a personal nature that made many of the students feel uncomfortable. They were asked to confess all sexual sin, all thoughts about sexual sin and how it makes God feel. Anyone who did not complete the assignment was isolated from their groups and punished with lengthier assignments, mandatory fasts and longer service in the prayer room." - IHOP Investigation

Now that we know Mike Bickle was a sexual deviant, preying on young women, these revelations are more disgusting. Forcing young students to write about their sexual sins and even thoughts serve no legitimate biblical purpose, other than to shame them, keep them in line, and have something to hold over them. Note the punishments as they are very typical of cults as well. A word here as well about the 24-7 prayer room paradigm. After the revelations about Bickle and minors became public, Bickle backers switched from trying to save Mike to trying to save IHOP and the model. The reason? Because it is a million-dollar model. It is a proven money-maker. It also has a built-in natural defense in that most won't dare speak against the model for fear of sounding like you are against prayer itself. That is of course a red herring argument. Prayer is holy and important for all believers. Forced prayer however is not. Forced fasting is not. These punitive measures are about controlling the people under you. Consider also, how the leadership must have viewed the 24-7 prayer room if they designated longer time in the prayer room as being punishment. It was bad enough that kids earned credit for time in the prayer room but that it was mandatory and used as chastisement reveal how nefarious it truly was.

"Students are assigned seats in prayer room and not allowed to trade seats. Students are forbidden to contact anyone outside IHOPKC on weekdays. They are allowed to contact their families on the weekends if their behavior during the week was acceptable. They are taught that their families will question them and even tell them what they are doing is wrong. They are told to isolate themselves from anyone questioning what they are doing at IHOP. They are told specifically that everyone who questions them does not, will not, and cannot understand because they are not chosen as the elect seed to usher in God's kingdom and are distracted by religious thinking." - IHOP Investigation

Wow. Are we starting to get the point? What the cult leader sells is the appearance of specialty. That you are somehow different, special and set apart. I remember Joseph Prince once taught his minions that they were part of the "Benjamin Generation"; which was the last generation before the rapture. Think about how evil this scheme is. You take young impressionable kids and expose them to a leader with decades of built up false prophetic credibility. They are conditioned to learn about Bickle and the IHOP prophetic history, not so much the bible. They are warned that people on the outside, including their parents, will try and correct them but ignore all the outside voices because only YOU were chosen as an elect seed to usher in the kingdom of God. That anyone who dares to shine the light of scripture to these Satanic teachings must be suffering from a "religious spirit" or "religious thinking." To minimize the chances of someone from the outside influencing the brainwashing they receive, they are forbidden from contacting anyone in the real world during the week and can only call their parents on weekends if they behaved well during that week. That is a textbook definition of a cult.

"If a student shows any signs of doubting what is happening they are assigned leaders who follow them and keep close watch over them. They are forbidden from spending any time with their friends. If a student shows any doubt they are rebuked by a gathering of two or more leaders, forced to fast, and spend more time in the prayer room. Some are forced to leave IHOP all together. If a student shows any signs of doubt they are told it is from demons they have allowed to enter their thoughts and it is from the generational sins of the parents and grandparents. The leaders take the journals, read them and support special findings to the worship team. Next, the worship team prophetically speaks over the person, utilizing the information they learned from the journal. My team tested this by writing false information inside the journal. A few days later that false information was then prayed over her in the prayer room, almost verbatim to what she had written on the pages of her journal." - IHOP Investigation

Wow again. There can be no doubt! Assimilation is mandatory! If there are slivers of doubt, the person is stalked by leadership and rebuked if necessary! Then look, the prayer room is again wielded like a cudgel to smack doubters over the head! Tell me again how pious the 24-7 model was? Stop. It was from the pit of hell itself. Then they psychologically torture the poor kids, telling them that they are fighting demons in their thought life. Anything that goes against the leader, or the cult is branded as demonic. Other false charismatic teachings such as generational curses are also weaponized against the students but in this case, they get to blame those same intrusive parents that just aren't called to be the seed that ushers in the kingdom of God like they are. How despicable. What is truly telling here is how the "prophetic" at IHOP is now exposed. Remember, Mike Bickle lied about God speaking to him to start IHOP and the 24-7 prayer movement. This false prophecy was also reported by two other false prophets who ended up being sexual predators in Bob Jones and Paul Cain. So, three sexual predators devised the entire IHOP model including the false 24-7 paradigm but now we see how prophecy was faked on the inside at that prayer room. IHOPKC would force the kids to journal and then the leaders would read them, sift them, and report to the prayer room worship team details they could pretend to "prophesy" over the duped students. This is eerily reminiscent of when Shawn Bolz used a smart phone to look up people at a conference and then pretend God was giving him "words of knowledge" about them, when it was really their Facebook profile! So now we know for sure that the premise of IHOP was false and the maintenance was equally false. It reminds me of the old Peter Popoff scam where he would have people reporting to him in an earpiece details of someone in the congregation and then he would pretend to prophesy. Just vile and reprehensible.

"Those in the forerunner school of ministry are taught techniques of witchcraft and the occult. Some of this includes the summoning of demonic spirits using touch to transfer power to another and the chanting of mantras. All students are taught to pray inwardly and focus on the human spirit. They are taught how to meditate and ask the Holy Spirit for prophetic visions. Those visions are then supposed to be recorded in their journals and given immediately to their leaders. Summer camp for the youth consists primarily of meditative worship, fasting and journaling. They force the students to spend hours in the prayer room with no breaks. They allow very little sleep. They are forbidden to listen to any music other than what is offered at IHOP, which only consists of mantra meditation songs. They are not allowed tv or computers or any device that would enable them to maintain a grasp on the outside world or reality. Cell phones are confiscated on the first day of summer camp and not returned until the last day. During our time there, several students wept and begged their leaders to phone their parents but were denied this right. Several students became ill due to the lack of food and lack of sleep but were denied the right to contact their parents for medication or medical advice. Instead, they were prayed over by their leaders. One student tried to sneak out to a fast-food place to get food for him and his roommates but was caught. He was assigned to solitary confinement for 24 hours in a room with nothing to do but journal." - IHOP Investigation

The charges of witchcraft and the occult are nothing new for IHOP. Nearly everyone who has escaped speaks to the same testimony. It has just been Mike Bickle was unassailable in the past but now we know he has been a wolf all of this time, preying on our kids. This meditation for prophetic vision is not new either. It is practiced throughout Eastern Mysticism and other false religions. I have seen it at other cult churches such as Bethel, where they teach their worship leaders that they are all prophetic and they need to empty their head and speak whatever pops into their wickedly deceitful hearts as "prophecy." Summer camp allows no outside contact, uses sleep deprivation, extended periods of time in the prayer room, which we now know they viewed punitively and excessive journaling, which we know is mined to falsify prophecies. Quite the detailed con IHOP had going on for decades. You don't feel well? Forget your parents! They can't help you! Don't you have any faith! Sneaking out for McDonalds? Solitary and even more extended prayer room punishment for you! They also spoke about one person that was finally allowed to go home after days of running a high fever. They were hospitalized for dehydration. Keep in mind this is supposed to be a church!

"Leaders are manifesting demons with these children, causing them to jerk, twitch, tremble and shake, foam at the mouth and even vomit. They are teaching the kids that these things are the working of the Holy Spirit and they are experiencing God's movement. All members are taught that the Holy Spirit comes to offend the thinking and offend rational ideas and offend everything they have been previously taught about religion and God. Tactics of manipulation. Deprivation of both food and sleep as well as guilt by association are all strongly used against the members to solidify their need for more. I sent a reported posed to do an interview to promote IHOP. The following were a few of his findings. There is a particular method to worship and praying and meditation and there is no room or allowance for freedom within these practices. Members are not forced to fast but IHOP closes the only organization that offers food at the discretion of the leadership and don't allow the students off campus to purchase food elsewhere. Thereby requiring a mandatory fast without officially saying it. When the reporter questioned this the answer was "God works in mysterious ways and he helps us to be obedient to His word and His word says we are to fast." - IHOP Investigation

The twitch, tremble and shake thing was previously reported as Kundalini activities within the prayer room, akin to the Brownsville demonic outpouring. What should we expect when we now know the prayer room was not of God to begin with? Is it any wonder Satan took over this room? Teaching that the Holy Spirit is teaching them to dismiss all they had learned about religion in favor of the new cult paradigm is sneaky spiritual manipulation at its most diabolical. To question it, means you are questioning God Himself! The dulling of their minds and senses was paramount to make sure the deception became reality. Scriptural manipulation is also paramount as the call for fasting is bastardized into this forced concept at IHOP. This was not God working and the ways were hardly mysterious. They were evil, pure and simple.

"Everyone must go to classes to learn how to meditate and utter prophecies. There is no personal preference or freedom here. Anyone not meditating properly will be escorted from the prayer room and taught the proper method. When the reporter asked how one could tell if someone was meditating correctly the leader said it was by the manifestation of the spirit in that particular person. He went on the say that we can determine if someone is real by the discernment of the Lord. They have bouncers walking the prayer room and tiny viewing doors that leaders can open at random and spy on what is happening inside the prayer room. When the reporter asked if people could come to the prayer room and pray anytime he was told that students are schedule to pray at certain times and must adhere to that schedule. They match the worship team, the style of music and the students that respond most positively together and assign them to particular hours.

Cults do not allow individuality. Here we see one of the fundamental unbiblical teachings in Charismania. The key verse teaches us that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are only given by Him, as He wills. You cannot "learn" the gifts, nor can you "teach" them. But IHOP taught them. So does Bethel in their silly School of the Supernatural. By the way, a prayer room with bouncers? A prayer room with secret windows for spying on kids as they pray? When you supported IHOP for the past 30 years, this is what you were supporting. It is yet again, a wonderful illustration of why the entire IHOP paradigm, including the 24-7 prayer room model, was entirely unbiblical. We need to stand back in awe as God lays waste to it.

In conclusion, IHOP is an extremely controlled environment. During our 16-week investigation my team on the inside heard very little scripture, very little about Jesus and nothing about salvation through Christ, which is the fundamental teaching of Christianity. We were taught meditation, encountered demonization, witnessed severe sensory deprivation, endured tactics of guilt, emotional manipulation and witnessed public humiliation. Our conclusion is that IHOP is not a Christian organization." - IHOP Investigation

This report was given to the sister of the 14-year-old Mike Bickle victim. It is being leaked today is our understanding. While I wish it were made known publicly back in 2012, I also realize that it would have gone nowhere back then when everyone was still cocooning Mike Bickle as a prophet beyond reproach. Remember, his backers knew him to the depths of his soul. Except they didn't. They did not know that he was a wolf devouring the sheep of the Lord. They did not know he had lied with two other sexual miscreants to develop this unholy IHOP paradigm. We needed for this investigation to see the light of day today, when we now know that Mike Bickle used God and his ministerial positions to sexually abuse minors and younger women, while telling them God said his wife was going to die. Upon such a wicked foundation He built a Churchianity empire of IHOP by enslaving the minds of youth. By depriving them of food and sleep. Be depriving them of their parents and medicine. By forcing them to work in the mines of the Satanic prayer room if they dared to step out of line. By shaming them. By creating the illusion of prophecy by demanding personal prayer journals and then using their own words against them. I cringe when I hear people like Dr. Michael Brown act as if IHOP and the 24-7 model is in some way redeemable. It is not. This investigation only confirms what those in discernment circles have known for years. IHOPKC and the 24-7 model was not and is not of God. He has had enough, and He is razing it to the ground. It would be wise to step back and get out of His way.
