They Are Not Controlling the Weather - Christians Need to Stop Being the Stupid People

It is so sad to continually watch Christians insist on being the stupid people. I love a good conspiracy theory but there has to be plausibility to it and the NAR apostate church cares as much about plausibility as they do about doctrine, which is to say not at all. The latest nutball belief being thrown around is that man can control the weather. People like lunatic Marjorie Taylor Greene is one of those sources for this craziness and if you are on the same side with the woman who blames Jewish space lasers on California wildfires, maybe it is time to rethink your positions. It is of little wonder that since the far-right morons are going all in on this to try and somehow blame Democrats for anything, that Charisma News would trot out dominionists to support this. The above link is to a new article by Michael Snyder, faux-Christian NAR dominionist. I am not even going to address the first half of the article, which is just designed to comment on the severity of the storm as somehow being suspicious. We are already seeing memes on Facebook with this angle.

Look, there is no question that Hurricane Milton is a lethal storm and the most powerful since Hurricane Rita in 2005. So, when Snyder says "this normally doesn't happen - he is correct. The problem is that he takes that truth and infers that something sinister is behind it just because it normally doesn't happen and that is simply bat-poop crazy and not very bright. Of course, he is not trying to be intellectual. He is trying to fear monger to win votes. He doesn't mind if he destroys the church's witness for Christ by insisting that Christians always be the stupid people. He exclaims that it is "nuts" that it picked up 90 MPH on Monday alone and it is nuts, I agree. He also correctly declares that a storm this powerful should not be happening in October. That is because the key ingredient to create hurricanes is warm water. What Snyder fails to do is connect the obvious dots. The reason why we are seeing massively stronger storms is clearly climate change. The waters are warmer because of it and that feeds these storms. For example, the waters off the coast of Miami, on the other side of Florida from Hurricane Milton, reached 101 degrees this summer. Think about that. That is the same temperature recommended for hot tubs. Think about how that will kill marine life. Think about how that would fuel dangerous "once in a century" storms like Milton. The reason why Snyder refuses to connect these dots is because he only supports Republican politicians, who typically deny climate change is even real because they accept massive donations from the big oil lobby. It is much easier to distract away from that conversation to conspiracy theories about man controlling the weather. The candidate Snyder insists you should vote for as a Christian openly mocks climate change by saying if ocean levels rise you have more beachfront property, which is idiotic because you would obviously have less. Let us reason once more through the conspiracy portion of Snyder's article.

"This storm was not supposed to become this powerful. So what happened? There are some people that are placing the blame on our changing climate, but others are pointing out that man-made tools can cause apocalyptic weather events as well. For example, earlier this year "cloud-seeding" was being blamed for producing "the heaviest rain ever recorded" in the United Arab Emirates. The United Arab Emirates is today attempting to dry out after the heaviest rain ever recorded in the desert nation caused utter chaos - but there are suspicions the horrific flooding in Dubai and elsewhere may have been self-inflicted. The typically scorching UAE heavily relies on cloud-seeding - a technique which sees aircraft fire salt flares into clouds to speed up condensation and induce rainfall - to provide its groundwater. Flight-tracking data analyzed by the Associated Press showed one aircraft affiliated with the UAE's cloud-seeding efforts flew around the country on Sunday. This technique has been used all over the world for decades, and in my opinion it should be completely banned." - Michael Snyder

Wow, your opinion is it should be banned? Based on what? Politics? Because Michael Snyder is not a meteorologist. In fact, he is not a scientist at all. He is a fake Christian cultural commentator and political operative. Note that he pays mere lip service to climate change, the obvious cause of the superstorms. Some are saying climate change but let's talk about some obscure technique to increase rain in barren areas. What Snyder does tell you is that the only people blaming cloud seeding for the flooding in Dubai are people like Michael Snyder. Dubai is a very dry area but a recent study concluded that climate change could see rainfall increase by 30% by the end of the century as the world continues to warm. It is correct that cloud seeding has been used in Dubai as well as some Western states in this country. The notion that it can cause hurricanes, or the unusual rainfall that Dubai saw is scientifically stupid. Snyder does not care because he is leaning all the way into stupid. That is the point of this article. The idea is to speak about unrelated things that sound "weatherish" to infer that man could possibly control things like Hurricane Milton. For example, Snyder talks about experiments that fire lasers into clouds to trigger lightning, which has been occurring since the 1970s. This of course has nothing to do with creating storms as Snyder infers and even less to do with controlling hurricanes. Congresswoman Greene famously posted a map of the devastation from Hurricane Helene overlayed with voting data to accuse Democrats of sending that hurricane to hit Republican districts. Hurricanes have always hit the southeast and guess who those states typically vote for? This is not rocket science but it is science. The notion that man can control, create and send hurricanes to where they wish is monumentally dumb. After sowing the seeds, pun intended, of doubt, Snyder naturally pretends that the matter remains unsettled.

"Ultimately, there are lots of ways that the weather can be manipulated. At this stage, we just don't know what has caused Hurricane Milton to experience "explosive" growth. But what we do know is that this storm is extremely dangerous, and it is anticipated that it will make landfall some time on Wednesday." - Michael Snyder

That is hysterical. Snyder discussed two things. One was cloud seeding, which tries to produce more rain for barren regions, and the lightning laser thing, which is not related to creating weather patterns at all. Yet this leads him to conclude that there are lots of ways for weather to be manipulated? No, there is not Michael. None of the two ways you spoke about even vaguely comes close to being able to create hurricanes. Do you know what does Michael? Warm waters. Do you know why our waters are warmer today, Michael? Because of idiots like you who place greed and power over protecting God's creation. The conclusion that we just do not know what caused Hurricane Milton's explosive growth is a lie. We certainly do know. This is the anatomy of a lie and how disinformation is born. The increase is superstorms is directly correlated to changes in our climate. That is how man is changing weather. It is only human arrogance that thinks they can control what God is in control of. Michael Snyder's job here was to create an air of doubt in the realities of climate change by talking about two random unrelated scientific advances. He was not trying to prove anything. He was just introducing the phony possibility that Hurricane Milton was somehow generated by man, who conveniently are his political enemies. He can only succeed though by convincing Christians to be the stupid people and it already is working. I have seen others in the NAR movement already start to question this storm as it relates to controlling weather. Jenny Weaver just inferred this as she was urging believers to not leave the Tampa area and choose "faith over fear." I have seen well-intended Christians start to question this on Facebook as well. You need to realize the damage you do for your witness for Jesus Christ if you continue to let yourself be manipulated by faux-Christian political forces.
