"Does his past or his demeanor matter more than the results he is accomplishing? If you are intellectually honest, the answer is not difficult. In the same way, the answer is simple for America. Again, we are not voting for people based on how godly they are; we are voting for the future direction of America: the right to life, the elevation of God's Word back to its proper place, the appointment of conservative judges, securing America and her borders, creating jobs, and improving the quality of life for all Americans." - Shane Idleman
First of all, the behavior is present, not past. The lies about the Haitians for example was just a few months ago. Does his past matter? Ask the woman he raped. Ask the jury of his peers that convicted him 34 times. Future behavior is often best advised by past behavior. Realize that this alleged man of God, called to be a pastor, is declaring that godliness is no longer relevant when picking leaders. Faith in God is no longer relevant. Everything is now transactional. If you promise to give us judges or legislation, it does not matter who you are, what you have done, or who you have done it to. That is the definition of a Faustian bargain and the definition of being in a cult. Beloved, none of this is biblical. None of this is Christian. The bible says that we should pray for our leaders and we all should pray for the new president. We should not be worshipping him however, or any leader for that matter. Shane can swear as hard as he likes that he is just "shaping a movement" but that is just cover because he would not be shaping that movement for anyone except Donald Trump. If there was a Democratic newly elected president who had 34 felony convictions, a rape conviction, six bankruptcies, three divorces and a porn start affair, does anyone honestly think Shane Idleman would be so nonchalant about his past and morality? Please. Shane can deny and deflect all he likes but all he keeps doing is testifying for the idolatrous cult he belongs to. In Jesus' name or course, wink wink.
