Another transparent attempt to push your political agenda by claiming God agrees. Donald Trump, who Driscoll idolizes, did not even win the majority of the votes, coming in under 50%. The trends in culture today are away from starting traditional families, especially among the younger generations. Look, there is nothing wrong with targeting young men for discipling but to pretend that God is saying pastors need to refocus ALL of their energies on reaching and activating, whatever that buzzword means, is patently ridiculous. Pastors need to preach the gospel, period full stop. God will draw people to Him, not Mark Driscoll. Then they will be "activated" by the indwelt Holy Spirit and not some purpose driven drivel.
'3. Confidence in mainstream media continues to trend downward. - Driscoll points out that statistically, people continue to lose trust in traditional media, especially as its bias against Trump and toward Harris was so blatant this year. There is also a rise of alternative media that continues to grow. So, how is the church to respond to this change in media consumption?
"What does this provide for the church of Jesus Christ? It provides an opportunity to tell the truth. It provides an opportunity to function not in a political way, but in a prophetic way. Not where you're trying to gain an audience, but where you're trying to glorify God"what we are seeing is people are looking for the truth. People are desperate for the truth. People are hungry for the truth. People are sick of being lied to. They're sick of sound bites and manipulation. What they want is truth, unvarnished-- ' - Charisma News
Ad absurdum. It is always hysterical to listen to people wax prophetically about things they do not understand. The reason for the declining confidence in mainstream media is twofold. The first is the emergence of alternative media sources, such as podcasts, which do not have any controls or ethics. So, they are free to create news rather than report news. The more prolific reason however is the concerted effort since Trump came down the escalator in 2016 to undermine confidence in it because he did not like the truth being told about him. Despite Mark Driscoll's stupidity, the facts remain against him. When Donald Trump, or anyone, breaks the law, they get prosecuted. When the former president of the United States is being prosecuted than that is what is called news and the job of the media is to cover it. People are not desperate for the truth Mark. They are desperate for confirmation bias and people like you are more than willing to provide it to them. God however is interested in the actual truth not your alternative facts. Your political idol lied over 30,000 times in his first term so save me the pearl clutching over your bald-faced lie of being lied to. Either way, how is this "prophetic?" Oh, that's right - it's not, which makes this a lie. How ironic.
'4. The reality of the demonic is coming to light in the mainstream culture. - Driscoll points to Tucker Carlson's experience of being attacked by a demon and how his story has permeated throughout the nation, showing the reality of dark and evil forces. "Ultimately, the demonic is mainstream. Demons are no longer just hiding; they're parading," says Driscoll. "There really is an unseen supernatural realm, there really is a God and a Satan, there really are angels and demons, there really is spiritual warfare."' - Charisma News
Let me see if I have this right mark. You just finished regaling us with stories about how people are sick of being lied to and the very next bullet point is to promote quite possibly to stupidest lie from 2024 and that lie was actually told by someone who has always been a part of the mainstream media you just railed against? Do you even edit your work, Mark? It does not even give Mark pause that Tucker, a vile excuse for a human being who has been cozying up to Russia lately, claimed that this demon left scars on his side but refused to then show these scars? Was this attack by Katie Souza's rogue werewolf? This story did not "permeate the nation." People with a sliver of intelligence or discernment cracked up, laughed out loud, and moved on. Yes, there really is spiritual warfare but not because some whack-job pseudo-journalist claims a demon mauled him. I would say that Driscoll is dumb for believing such but I do not think he actually believes this. He is just using it to support his NAR narrative. By the way, the truly demonic, parading itself through this country, is found in the pulpits of the NAR churches with pastors like Mark Driscoll. That someone like Robert Morris can build a 100-million-dollar personal wealth on the bones of a 12-year-old he molested for four years is demonic. What Mike Bickle did to at least three women, two of which were 12 and 13 years old, is demonic. The teachings of Bill Johson, Kris Vallotton and Bethel Church is demonic. Demons are not sneaking into bedrooms to maul people. They stand in the pulpits and lie to people that they are saved when they are not. That is truly demonic.
'5. There has been an explosion of Bible purchases made by non-Christians. - Driscoll notes that those who may not necessarily go to church or who do not know Jesus are seeking God in droves as they read the Bible for the very first time. "Isn't it curious that the Word of God is really, truly, living and active? Isn't it amazing that all Scripture really is God-breathed and profitable? Isn't it incredible that every Word of God is flawless and proved true? Isn't it amazing that though we have so much technology what people want to do is find a copy of the Bible and open it and read it for themselves? Well, what is the Spirit of God saying to the church? You need to be in God's Word."' - Charisma News
There are two sides here worth addressing. The first is that while bible sales are indeed up in this country, it is primarily because of the great anxiety that exists in our country and the world today. The constant demonization of disagreement, the blurring of the lines with despotic dictators and evil regimes leaves people unsure in this day and age. It is a good thing that they potentially are seeking God in this but the fear is that they will not find Him because they will look to the NAR churches that teach white-ethnonational dominionism instead of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The second side of this is that it is a little rich for someone as biblically illiterate as Mark Driscoll claim God is saying we must be in His word. Now obviously, we need to be in His word but let me just suggest that perhaps God is speaking to Driscoll first. Mark then speaks about two of the hot button cultural issues the NAR dominionist church likes to focus on - blind support for Israel and trans rights, which affects all of one percent of the population. He does so with the usual Republican Party inaccurate bluster. He claims on trans rights that a "generation has been mutilated." This is solely designed to sensationalize what amounts to a tiny fraction of less than one percent. In a four-year period, there were 48,000 surgeries, across all age groups, in a population of 350 million. The percentage is so small, AI Google just says "very small." What is more interesting however is the eighth prophetic prediction about the primary political wedge issue, abortion:
