Pastor Chris Rosebrough from Fighting for the Faith has this expression he uses called, "blue sleeps faster than Tuesday." It is a perfectly constructed sentence. It has an article, a noun and a verb. From a structure standpoint it is sound but it means absolutely nothing. I cannot tell if this is a sincere attempt to teach or the random mutterings of someone desperate for attention. Apparently Kris believes we all have offices in the third heaven and if we are not seated there, then we are under the power of the second heaven? Huh? Biblical scholars agree that the first heaven does relate to our earthly existence. It is our atmosphere The second heaven is the remaining universe of God's creation. The third heaven is what the Apostle Paul was given a glimpse of in 2Corinthians Chapter 12. He heard things that could not be uttered. It was paradise. The throne room of God Almighty Himself. It was so unusual and awe-inspiring that this followed:
So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." - 2Corinthians 12: 7-9 (ESV)
The surpassing greatness of the revelations Paul received while being taken up into the third heaven were so powerful that God allowed Paul to be constantly harassed by a messenger from Satan, lest he become conceited. This thorn was so debilitating to Paul he pleaded with God three times to remove it but God said no. I showed you my glory so now you must rely upon my grace - it will be sufficient for you. God was so worried that Paul would become conceited from one visit that he allowed Satan to harass him for the rest of his life but Kris Vallotton is teaching that as believers we are supposed to live in the third heaven. Conceited and disgusting.Vallotton's conceited theology stems from not understanding a different verse:
All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. - Ephesians 2: 3-7 (ESV)
Christ has raised us spiritually to overcome sin and death. We share in His resurrection in this manner. Our placement in heavenly realms is so in the coming ages, when judgment should be handed out, He might show the incomparable riches of His grace. It is a picture of salvation beloved. His kindness towards us that while yet we were sinners He died for us. It does not mean that He gave us a literal chair in the third heaven, let alone the corner office that Kris Vallotton thinks he holds. Mercifully, this train finally derails:
"Jesus said I am the light of the world and then three chapters later he said that you are the light of the world. How many have heard the teaching that says in the last days the darkness will get darker and darker and the light will get brighter and brighter. That the church will get brighter and the world will get worse and worse. That is bull. Jesus did not say that I am the light of the church. He said I am the light of the world. The point is where is or light located? What if the world is not supposed to get worse but better? Is it possible that Christians are the only ones who think things are getting worse? And we are supposed to be the hope of the world? Some hope." -- Kris Vallotton
Sigh. When you believe in selling the trinkets of this world like Kris and Bethel Church do, you become lackeys for Satan. The reason why the church is the light is because it should be proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ - that is the hope. There is a vast difference however between being the hope of the world and being the hope for the world. Jesus Christ is not the hope for the world. The world will continue to get worse and worse. If Kris read his Bible he would know that. The love of most will continue to grow cold. The birth pains will grow closer together. The great apostasy will continue with people like Kris Vallotton leading the way. Our hope Kris is in that Jesus has overcome this world that you idolize so deeply.
By the way, the church will also grow darker and darker. Remember that narrow is the path and few are those who find it. Instead of being a light unto this world the church has become glitter, which sparkles but can only reflect. It distracts but makes no light of its own. Yes there will always be a remnant but most of what passes for the church today is so scripturally illiterate that it would fall for such heretical garbage as we have just reviewed. Remember this was an hour long sermon to a Christian business convention in the Netherlands. He said we are co-creators with God and no one walked out. He said we co-reign with God and everyone applauded. He said that all believers should be living this life in the throne room of God and everyone said hallelujah. I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart for they are like sheep without a shepherd. Being led to slaughter by a man who thinks the world is just going to get brighter and brighter and those pesky religious Christians provide no real hope. God help us.
