Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? --unless indeed you fail to meet the test! -- 2Corinthians 13:5 (ESV)
It is high time that self-professing Christians obey the key verse above and test themselves to see if they are truly in the faith. I say this from a position of fellowship in sufferings with no illusions of grandeur. Discernment is not just for ministries but for every bible believing Christian. I get more and more worried when I see low hanging fruit confusing the church. I can understand why we fall for someone as slick as Joseph Prince but Bill Johnson? Jennifer LeClaire? The NAR dominionists we see every day selling out Christ for the baubles of this world? Our allegiance is to Christ, not any man. We are ambassadors for Christ. We are not of this world anymore beloved. We are pilgrims and sojourners through this world and our citizenship is in heaven. There is no dual citizenship allowed. That is called idolatry. I say this as a backdrop to several stories and posts from this week regarding the release of the new Paula White book.
Let's deal with White first. She is a wolf. A charlatan selling the gospel for profit and changing it to enrich herself. She is thrice married and I say that not to judge but to state fact. Her most recent marriage is to former rock star from Journey, Jonathan Caine. She has made over five million dollars robbing the sheep of the Lord. I once wrote about a teaching where she claimed God told her 1Chronicles 22:9 meant God wanted everyone listening to her to send her $229 dollars. I kid you not. Despite her prosperity gospel she is an unabashed NAR dominionist and serves as the primary spiritual counselor for our president. Yet despite this meaning our president is being advised by Satan, I have seen Christian after Christian giddy with the fact that he listens to someone as false as Paula White.
So it seems now that Paula White is capitalizing on her new national prominence and has released a new book. That is her right as a citizen of this country but Christians should want no part in it. While many will agree, the same people seem confused that other NAR dominionists have endorsed this book. First up is Franklin Graham:
"Paula White has led an interesting life and now serves as a trusted advisor to President Donald Trump. She has a new book coming out tomorrow that you might want to check out!" -- Franklin Graham
Interesting life? Perhaps Franklin meant when she was under Senate investigation for the money she was making off the church? Perhaps interesting refers to her teaching that we are all "little gods" or when she had an affair with a married Benny Hinn. As tepid as this endorsement may sound we must remember that the NAR purpose driven industrial complex protects their own. Graham has bent over backwards and mangled scripture to side with the current president. Not coincidentally, he started supporting him right after Trump made two six figure contributions to the "charities" Graham is CEO of. I put charities in quotes because Graham lobbied the government to change their status to "churches" a couple years back, even though they clearly are not. He did this because as a "church" he does not have to disclose his salaries, which at last count were over 800,000 dollars per year. Perhaps no person has compromised himself more for this current president than Franklin Graham. So is it any surprise that he endorsed Paula White? It shouldn't! Yet there were so many confused and let down this week and I am left scratching my head because Graham is as false as they come. In 1998 he wrote a scathing op-ed about the failings of Bill Clinton. Fast forward 20 years and suddenly morality does not mean anything anymore. That is because to a true NAR dominionist the ends always justify the means. That brings us to Jack Graham and Robert Jeffress:
"My good friend Paula White has written a new book which releases tomorrow. It is powerful. I highly recommend it!" -- Jack Graham
"My friend Paula White has a wonderful new book releasing tomorrow about God's power to transform lives. Read SOMETHING GREATER and give it to anyone looking for hope!" -- Robert Jeffress
A little less known but just as compromised. Jeffress is on the front line of defending anything the president does. He claims Trump is a "Christian warrior", which is absurd to the extreme. He recently made the inflammatory and idiotic comment about civil war if Trump is impeached. He stated the Trump comments about "sh*t-hole countries was spot on, but the vocabulary choice could have been better. He also opined that men who sleep with porn stars or grab women by the genitals are fine for president, just not for Sunday School. That is what compromise looks like. Where is Jesus in any of this? Why do I need a huckster's book for hope when I have the spirit of God inside of me? Realize they both refer to her as friend, so it is not just an endorsement of the book but the person as well. Who cares if you think the book is powerful? Why are you leading sheep to slaughter? The next endorsement comes from Jerry Falwell Jr.:
"Our friend Paula White is about to release her new book, "Something Greater." Paula's life is an encouragement to so many and I am sure this book will encourage you." -- Jerry Falwell Jr.
Again, should this be of any surprise to a discerning Christian? Absolutely not. Falwell has been uber political and is embroiled in personal scandal after personal scandal. To every scandal, Falwell simply denies and moves on, despite proof offered. Whether it is partying in Miami clubs or bragging about his sex life, Falwell embodies the NAR and uses his position, name and Liberty University for his own ends. Perhaps the most disappointing endorsement comes from Greg Laurie:
"Honestly, I was not sure what to think when I was first invited to meet Paula White. Clearly, we differed in some areas theologically. Yet, I have found her to be gracious and humble. I am glad she has taken the time to write down her amazing life story. It will give you hope." -- Greg Laurie
I have been off Laurie for some time now but I can understand if some find it difficult to pin him down. Hopefully this ridiculous statement helps define him better for you. If I am pre-trib and my friend is post trib, THAT would be a theological difference. If you teach that I am a little god who can speak things into existence and ask me to send you cash based on numerology then we have absolutely nothing in common. Who cares if she is gracious and humble at that point? I am sure Joel Osteen is a great guy to spend some time with chatting but that does not make him less of a heretic! This is like Dr. Michael Brown defending Joseph Prince by saying he just has some holes in his theology. No! He is a ravenous wolf! I do not need hope from someone who has made over five million dollars by lying to the sheep of the Lord!
Beloved, this is very concerning. One of the most voracious wolves on the planet puts out a new book and no less than five prominent "church" figures endorse it. This should be a point of celebration because not only do we know Paula White is a false as a three-dollar bill but Franklin Graham, Jack Graham, Robert Jeffress, Jerry Falwell Jr. and Greg Laurie have removed all doubt that deserve to be equally marked and avoided. Test ourselves. Do not minimize this for a second. This is where the road to the end times one world religion is paved. One compromise at a time. Piety wrapped in a flag, devoid of the truth, and brimming with carnal hope.
Rev. Anthony.
