looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. -- Hebrews 12: 2 (NKJV)
Everyone likes a great story. Well, God is writing such a story. It is filled with interesting characters like you and I. It is filled with hope and redemption. It has a glorious ending where good triumphs over evil.
But sometimes we do not like the part God is writing in for us and we can tend to take the pen out of His hand. In the Old Testament, Naaman was such a man. He was insulted that the Prophet did not come out to greet him personally and only asked him to dip himself seven times in the dirty Jordan River to cure his leprosy. Thankfully his servant convinced him to listen and hand the pen back to God and he obeyed, and of course was healed.
Let's face it. Sometimes we take the pen and then get writers block! Our life becomes stagnant or heads in the opposite direction God intended for us. The Bible says that Jesus is the author and the finisher. Romans 8:28 assures us that the story He is writing for us is a good one. Give Him back the pen today. Remember, if God is your co-pilot"you are sitting in the wrong seat!
