Christians in this country are so easily distracted. The Bible says that if we are not careful we could end up being tossed by every new wave of doctrine and that is certainly the case in these end days. The latest "teaching" comes up and Christians crawl towards it to embrace it. We saw it with the heretical holy laughter movement, Brownsville "Revival", and more recently the false Lakeland Revival. Consider that holy laughter taught that the Holy Spirit wanted us to roll around on the floor barking like a dog. Brownsville wanted us to believe that uncontrolled twitching and spasms were caused by the Comforter. Lakeland taught that the Holy Spirit was compelling Todd Bentley to punch and kick people in order for them to receive their "healing." It is no wonder the world derides and mocks us. It is no wonder why our collective intelligence is often questioned. When the world sees us chasing people they can tell are abject liars and they are walking in darkness, what exactly does that say for us?
One of the infatuations Christians have is with date setting false prophecies. Never mind that the Bible specifically says no man will know the hour of the Lord's return. Never mind that we ought to be about the Master's work. Never mind that we often have entire swaths of our family still unsaved. Just feed us your secret codes and clairvoyance! Over the past year this has been at a fever pitch due to the work of two famous false prophets, Jonathan Con and John Hagee. Jonathan Con has been selling us his numerology based shenanigans for years now. He started with The Harbinger, where he leveraged the Bible to prop up his pre-decided premise that God was judging America. As if we needed someone to tell us that we are living in the end times. As if we needed someone to tell us that America will be judged. God already told us in His Word! The book made Con rich but not beyond his greed. He then took a chapter from his book and expounded on it in his next offering to gullible Christians, The Mystery of the Shemitah. For the entire past year Con appeared on any show that would have him to pitch this notion that the worst stock market collapses occurred in a secret code sequence that he tied back to the Old Testament pattern of rest every seven years. Because Israel had not kept this ordinance every seven years, known as the Shemitah, God punished them. Con's flawed argument then applied this to America and claimed that God is now seeking punishment upon us for the same violations of not keeping the ordinances of God.
But wait! There's more!
If that was not enough to frighten you into buying his book, Con then tied it to the feast days of Israel and the fact that the Shemitah this year landed on Elul 29! Dire predictions and warnings were issued everywhere he found an open microphone. As an extra paranoid bonus, Con invoked the Super-Shemitah specter. Also known as Jubilee, this is year fifty, after seven cycles of Shemitahs and guess what? It was this year! On Elul 29! Quick! Buy my book! And boy did we ever. Jonathan Con is a rich man today. Wealth acquired off the brows of duped Christians who would rather chase false prophets than spread the Gospel.
So what happened? Well, Elul 29 passed last week without a hiccup. The stock market is just fine, although many financial experts do predict and eventual correction. I think Con saw these experts picking September as a likely point and he leveraged the Bible to try and capitalize on it. But like all false prophets, the Lord will reveal them. The serious flaw in his premise, as far back as The Harbinger, is that America is not Israel. We are not under covenant with God and never were. We are not required to keep the civil ordinances of an ancient agrarian theocracy. Everything else does not matter because the foundation of his books was ridiculously false. To serve as a further embarrassment for Rabbi Con, it was revealed this past week that he simply made up the Shemitah year. He wanted it to be this year so he backed into it. He had to because the truth is that in order to properly calculate every seven years to know when the Shemitah and Super Shemitah years fall on, you need to know year one. There are too many gaps in the recorded Jewish history to possibly know that. So even if all of his numerology and false assumptions were somehow right, he could never know for sure which year would be the dreaded Shemitah. And we bought it. And Con laughed all the way to the bank.
But wait, sigh, there's more.
Amidst all of the Shemitah lies and Super Shemitah dreams, we also had a tetrad of blood moons over the past two years. This is the specialty of Pastor Hagee; that is lying about it. John Hagee has always been an Israel worshipper who believes in dual covenant theology. Essentially that means he does not believe the Jewish people need to come to Christ. That they are under their own covenant. He also has a clear unhealthy attraction to this country. Who can blame him as he has made himself very rich here selling God's Word. The essentials of his blood moons garbage, which he wrote a book about as well, is that God is sending a message by having four lunar eclipses in a two year period which fall on Jewish Feast Days. Like Con, Hagee has been pimping his fear mongering to anyone who will listen for over a year now. He actually predicted that the appearance of the fourth blood moon in September 2015, coinciding with the Shemitah and Super-Shemitah, bodes destruction for the world's stock markets and will result in the loss of 50% of global wealth. Well, I hope that you have your bunker ready!
The fourth blood moon is due in just five days.
That's right beloved, after September 28th, we will have even more proof of the falseness of John Hagee. On September 29th we will see that there is no loss of 50% of global wealth. The Shemitah, Super Shemitah, blood moons and supery-dupery blood moons will all have faded into history as what they were all along. Nothing. This is the last gasp of the false doomsday prophets. Sure they will be back. They will find some other bit of historical data they can massage and conflate with some innocuous biblical practice from 5000 years ago and try to convince you to buy their insights. I just really hope we all have learned our lessons. There is nothing to be gained from chasing falling stars beloved but plenty to be lost. Every minute is precious and we must redeem the time by spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Blood moons cannot save your unsaved spouse! The year of Jubilee will not save your best friend! Only the Gospel is the power of God unto the salvation of the lost! So count down these last five days with me. Count them down with joy as we watch God expose John Hagee as H e exposed Jonathan Con for us last week. We will all awake on September 29th and know we have been sold a false bill of goods by a top-shelf charlatan who has lined his pockets with our money by making merchandise of the sheep of the Lord. God help him and Rabbi Con.
God help everyone when the true signs start coming. There will be no book tours involved. There will be no movie premiers. Look at the warnings from the key verses and realize how great and terrible the day of the Lord will be. Yes there will be signs in the sun, moon and stars but they will be far beyond a mere eclipse. Look at what these signs result in! Turmoil in the nations! Perplexed by roaring seas and strange tides! What causes tides? The moon! People will faint in fear and foreboding of what is coming on the world! Why? Because the moon turned a pretty shade of red? No. Because 5000 years ago an agrarian theocracy canceled all debts and let all slaves go free to celebrate Jubilee? No. Because the powers of the heavens themselves will be shaken. There will be no doubt what is going on is from God Almighty. There will be no time to write books. There will be no time to fear monger on television programs. There will be only time to repent for the King of Kings is at hand.
