One of the problems facing the NAR dominionist attempts to spiritually strongarm the church to vote for Donald Trump is how glaringly he is a bad, bad person. I do not mean bad in general, as all fall short. I mean exceptionally bad. I mean vile. Apparently, Charisma News recognized this glaring problem for their electoral NAR dreams so they dispatched Ron Allen, Christian businessman according to his bio, to try to explain why we should have no moral dilemma in voting for Donald Trump. We all know how Charisma has previously claimed that this despicable candidate is secretly the second coming of King Cyrus, King Jehu, or somehow has a Deborah anointing with an Elijah mantle. In order to try and convince us that there is no moral issue however, Allen has to take it to new absurd heights. Apparently, we should now compare Trump to the Apostle Paul or Augustine. How embarrassingly absurd. Let us reason once more beloved through the short article linked above. It of course had to be short because there is no reasonable moral defense for voting for Donald Trump.
"The presidential election is upon us, and we are being bombarded with claims and counterclaims about the candidates. Donald Trump, in particular, has been a magnet for controversy since he began running for office. Even his supporters admit that he has flaws, and he often is his own worst enemy. Many people have chosen not to support him because of this. Many cannot get past his past transgressions with women. How, they ask, can Christians support such an immoral person? The answer goes back to a widely reported incident in the 2016 campaign when Trump prayed to receive Christ. Since then, he has been very supportive of Christianity and now credits God with saving his life during the assassination attempt. If you believe Trump is a Christian, his sins have been forgiven and he is a new man in Christ." - Ron Allen
He has flaws? He has flaws? Is that the best gaslighting you can manage? Ok, let's play along. Which flaws bother you the most Ron? The fact that he is a convicted rapist? The fact that he has 34 other felony convictions? Maybe the six bankruptcies are the flaws that might vaguely concern you? Is it the fact that he thinks you can grab women by their genitals if you are famous or maybe the fake charity he ran that stole money from other charities including ones that help kids with cancer. This is the point. Ron Allen and the NAR must minimize who Trump is or they know any God-fearing Christian would know they could not possibly vote for him. This despite the absolutely RIDICULOUS story that he was saved. This fake tale was originally told by James "NAR" Dobson but even James had to walk it back by saying it was just what he had heard. Who did he hear it from? Paula "Huckster" White. Paula is such a false teacher she once fleeced her flock by declaring God told her that 1Chronicles 22:9 meant that people should give her $229; I kid you not. More easily for anyone with a sliver of discernment or observational skills, Trump has not appeared since 2016 to get any better but rather, much, much worse. Trump has always paid lip service to Christians for political reasons but the man openly said he himself did not need to even ask God for forgiveness for anything. If you believe Trump was saved in 2016 then you are delusional and are simply seeking to confirm your bias. Even if you want to pretend that somehow everything he did prior to 2016 is covered by the blood that does not exempt him from temporal consequences for it. David was forgiven for his adultery but still lost his son and had another rebel against him. What happened prior still matters in terms of who he is unless there was marked signs that he was no longer like this. Is that what you see? Just a few weeks back he spread a vicious lie that our brothers and sisters from Haiti were eating pets in Ohio! He calls people on the other side of his politics scum and vermin. Look, if you say that you think Trump is the better choice or the lesser evil, have at it but stop pretending he is God's choice by lying about his eternal salvation.
"To those who raise Trump's past sins, you may ask if they have quit reading the words of Paul and Augustine. After all, Paul persecuted Christians, and Augustine chased women. Yet when they converted to Christianity, God forgave them and used them mightily. If God can use them, He can also use Trump. So, yes, a Christian may in good conscience vote for Trump despite his sinful past. He is a larger-than-life figure and has many well-publicized shortcomings, but the same can be said for all politicians. After all, we are not electing a pope." - Ron Allen
Yes, when one considers the life of Paul or Augustine, Donald Trump comes to mind. How stupid. How insulting. The lack of respect Charisma shows for its readers' intelligence is staggering. Is Allen honestly comparing the life of Paul after conversion to the fake conversion of Donald Trump and his ensuing behavior? Neither Augustine or Paul by the way were used by God politically. I will make you a deal. If Donald Trump wants to become a Christian missionary and roam the world establishing churches while not talking about grabbing women by their genitals? I would be all in. So, yes, God can use him but that also applies to Kamala Harris. The same arguments work on both sides. By the way, of course a Christian CAN choose to vote for Trump despite his sinful past but that does not mean some could choose not to or choose to not vote at all. More importantly, to pretend that Trump was saved in 2016 ignores everything he has done and said SINCE 2016. Lastly here, please stop with these vacuously stupid arguments about not electing a pope or a pastor in chief. It was the church that for decades preached about the morality of candidates and how character counts. It is very hypocritical now to pretend it does not matter at all. It is also naive and spiritually bankrupt to think that someone who is as compromised morally as Trump, somehow has no bearing on how he will govern. Mercifully, Ron Allen concludes:
"Even so, there are Christians who may vote against Trump for other reasons, as is their right. In the end, you are accountable to God for how you vote, so let your conscience dictate your choice. Pray to be led by the Holy Spirit for your vote. And pray for America." - Ron Allen
