Beloved it is time to stop being fooled by Dr. Michael Brown. He has been counselled and corrected over and over again only to continuously ignore sound biblical instruction when it comes to the false teachers he continues to be a gatekeeper for. These verses could not be clearer. Do not participate in the things these people do. We should not call their radio shows. We should not engage them in the hopes they see the darkness they stumble around in. Jesus warns us that when we have convinced ourselves that our darkness is light, how deep is that darkness. Michael Brown is on record as saying that some of the worst false teachers today are his brothers and sisters. Jesus says that only He who does the will of my Father is my brother and sister and that must be tested through Scripture not some adherence to denominational purity.
I was saved in a charismatic church. For over ten years I was an eager participant who loved the Lord and chased the Spirit. Along the way however I read the Bible and eventually the Holy Spirit convicted me of the false teachings I had embraced. The leaven I had allowed into my doctrine. This did not make me less charismatic but purer in understanding what it truly means. By no stretch am I saying I am perfect for of these I remain the least. I try however to carefully determine what pleases the Lord. I strive to live as a person of light. Note the final instruction from the key verses beloved. It is not enough to take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness. We must instead expose them.
The truly sad part is that Dr. Michael Brown, as learned as he is, cannot see that his includes the instruction to rebuke who is false. It is not enough to merely write a book outlining what is false if you then embrace those that teach falsely. Then your writing becomes an academic exercise designed to provide you with some cover while the sheep who do not know any better will learn far more from what you do than what you say. The average sheep will not read Dr. Brown's book on hyper grace but they will remember that he defended Joseph Prince. The average sheep will not understand that intricacies of the NAR or the false signs and lying wonders movement but will remember that Michael Brown cuddled up to Bill Johnson and Jennifer Leclaire. Who you openly associate with is who you endorse and who you endorse is what you believe. In many ways being a gatekeeper is worse because you take on all of those false teachings for yourself. You unwittingly lead so many people to the broad path that leads to destruction. Beloved, if Joel Osteen tweets something that is profound and true, which he has done, I cannot retweet it because I fear who I lead to that wolf. In the past year Dr. Brown has led people to beliefs in gold dust, gem stones, angel feathers, glory clouds, greasy hyper grace, schools of the supernatural, healing on demand, sneaky squid spirits, prophetic networks and coverings and motel room prophet trainings. Mind you he has not advocated for any one of these egregious false teachings. He just pointed people to the gate where they can find them and smiled his assent along the way. As much as it pains me to say, until he repents this is enough for discerning Christians everywhere to no longer be fooled by Dr. Michael Brown.
